Why the Pirates, heard they are tuning out their coach.

The Pirates have been playing awful. No doubt in my mind they are terrible since the all star break. They are 2-13 since that break. But look at the wins. The only 2 wins they accounted for since then are when Paul Maholm pitches. He out pitched Oliver Perez in New York and Wandy Rodriquez at home. He has become their most consistent pitcher on the squad. I know that Snell and Gorzelanny have better ERAs but he has molded into their most consistent pitcher. In his last 6 starts he has posted 5 quality starts and 3 in a row. He held the Braves to 2 ER, the Astros to 2 ER, and the Mets to 3 ER. All of those ER came late in the game when the deal was almost sealed anyhow. On the other hand Wainright has been up and down all year, one of the more inconsistent pitchers there are. He can he lights out or just plain awful. His last start he only last 5 innings against the Cubs. He gave up 9 hits, 1 walk, and 6 earned runs. Now he has to go on the road and face the hottest Pirates pitcher.. I just see this as a break through game for the Buccos. They aren't going to make much of this season, I'll tell you that, but if they are going to have any respect left when it's over they need to get back in the groove. I see this next coming up homestretch the perfect way to get back into the swing of things. Best of luck whichever side you are on!

I'm on the Pirates as well. The Cards will be flat as shit after beating Milwaukee 3/4. That was their World Series.

Yeah I truly do like the Pirates, but didn't add them to my card yet. I love this spot for Maholm, he has truly become a good and consistent pitcher. I think there are way too many other games that look better than the Cardinals here. I will be looking more into the Pirates, but yet to add them. Either or, I'll be rooting for them!

Good Luck AJ, really like all your totals and all sides except the Pirates scare me a little bit, the Cards are attempting to make 1 late run to get back into things since the Brew Crew were unable to place a stranglehold on the division when they had a chance.

I realized this and didn't add them to my card. I had a big lean on them but can't pull the trigger. I don't know if I am being biased saying I think they'll win or what, so I will more than likely stay off.

But thanks for the other opinions. Good luck to you tonight and your picks!
