aramis ramirez is pretty damn good too. i used to think scott rolen was the best in the game by a wide margin. but like you said, inge is very very good. ive always felt its one of the most difficult positions to play in all of sports. when i righty is up to back, any ball hit to you is going to usually require quick reflexes. and lefties have a way of 'cue-ing' it down there. inge is damn good.

As a daily watcher of the Tigers,I stand up for inge because he is like a vaccum cleaner when it comes to grounders,but the key thing to me is that I think he is one of the best at picking up a slower roller barehanded and making a straight and strong throw to first.Inge has a very strong arm.It defensive plays like that help win championships.....Than royalfan for noticing.:thumbsup:
He's the only guy I've ever seen who charged a slow roller, barehanded it, and only brought his throwing arm back about 6 inches to generate enough power to throw a strike to first and nip the runner. If he had brought his arm back any further, the runner would have been safe. That play was an incredible combination of physical and mental dexterity.
