Any thoughts on this big 3 game set here in Seattle? Series outcome? Can the M's keep up the dominance?

Just trying to stir up some diamond chatter at midnight.

Pitching matchups:

Friday Jon Lester LHP (1-0, 4.26) Vs Horacio Ramirez LHP (6-3, 6.52)
Saturday Daisuke Matsuzaka, RHP (12-8, 3.75) vs Jarrod Washburn, LHP (8-7, 4.11)
Sunday Josh Beckett, RHP (13-5, 3.41) Vs Miguel Batista, RHP (11-7, 4.23) --- Day game.

Sunday's matchup looks like it could be very entertaining if Beckett can regain some form from earlier this season. Batista is pitching great baseball coming off a gem against the Angels in his last start.

Sox will be happy to win one of the three which will probably be the Saturday game as Dice-K is pitching very well despite losing a duel to Tampa Bay's Scott Kazmir last Sunday. Jarrod Washburn has been getting lit up of late going 0-1 in his last 4 starts while yielding 15 runs during the four games.

A Red Sox win on Friday is possible but Jon Lester is still an unknown commodity and Horacio Ramirez is very tuff to beat at Safeco. Hopefully for Red Sox fans they won't have to depend on a struggling Josh Beckett this Sunday to avoid a sweep.

In Safeco Field, definite yes.

Kinda on the front page of theRX here. 23-8 in the last 31 meetings in Safeco, including a current 8 game winning streak at Safeco. That's not dominance? :ughhh:

I didnt know that. But what is Bostons record at home vs the seahawks or whatever they are called.

it doesnt matter anyway. the past is the past. if we are to bet on these games, we have to cap what is happening now. we cant get money down on the seahawks retro over those past home games.

Mr Smith

Lester isnt unknown

What I mean is he only has the two starts totaling 12 innings this year since coming back from battling cancer and his stamina especially is a concern. Not to mention that Lester only has 19 big league appearances in his career on top of the comeback which in my book makes him still more unpridictable than a veteran who has been starting all season and has at least another full season under his belt.

The Dominance remark is from Addict101's post, perhaps he is referring to their excellent 36 and 20 home record this season or maybe the series in late June where the Mariners won three out of three against the Red Sox at Safeco. I don't know for sure.

Go ahead and try to be a smartass. I'll play that game too. I doubt the Red Sox own an 8 game winning streak at Fenway over the Mariners. Oh shit, I forgot...Felix threw a 1 hit CG on Dice K's ESPN debut. That was a great feeling to spoil that party.

I am not smart. maybe funny, not smart.

I do know you dont bet jack squat blindly on a team because they are 23-8 at home vs another team in their last 31 meetings. it doesnt matter now. You have to cap the games upcoming.

Like I posted before, it's more than the sweep earlier this year at Safeco. Numbers speak for themselves over the last few seasons between these two clubs in Safeco Field.

Wow.

Did I ever even call your intelligence into question whether it be good or bad? No, I just found your cute little mixup of the Seahawks with the Mariners a smartass post. The way you just put yourself across on here (kind of like calling yourself an idiot), maybe you do think the Seahawks play baseball? Have you ever heard the term 'smartass' before? Who knows...

I already have enough problems with Skankies fans, I dont need any problems with Seahawks fans or whoever they are. Besides, I took them at +250 to win their division recently. I like them as a team. I dont dislike them or you.

I hope you do realize the seahawks record versus the red sox means nothing going forward. other than the obvious its harder for a team to play well traveling across three time zones and that has to be put in the line stuff.

as for tomorroww, red sox had to travel from the east coast to the west without a day off. probably the seahawks take 2 out of 3 here. but dont write that down in marker. the red sox are the better team

Beware the Red Sox on the west coast, and especially in Seattle. I keep telling myself that eventually they'll figure out how to win out there, but they haven't done it yet. I'm hoping that maybe Lester gets them out of their west coast funk because he hasn't been around for it in the past.

was gonna post this in the baseball forum last night but i guess this is just as good. anyone see an advantage here for at least game 1 with M's. boston had to play yesterday and then had to travel 3,000 miles while M's had yesterday off.

Let's call it a minor dominance.

True. Is that your daughter?

M's fans getting cocky in Da House....at least in this argument we don't have to hear "we have won 26 World Series Blah Blah...".
I like the M's team--but mr Putz seems to be a little shaky lately. Don't quite think the Sox fear the M's yet..Sox take 2 of 3

Yes but the past does matter...are you kidding me?

What exactly are you basing your pre-game analysis on if not the past?

It can't be based on anything but the past.
