What did I miss? As soon as I turn on the tube I see his eyes running like a faucet, see people in the stands crying and then a bunch of hugs. All I got to hear was the "pick your head up, keep it up and never give up" part.

Very open and honest speech. It wasn't the most eloquent of the night, but you could see that his heart was in it. Everyone knows about the drugs, but I can only imagine how deep the abuse really went, to himself and his family. It would have been very easy for him to just be a arrogant, jokester, clown he usually is on ESPN. I give him a lot of credit for acknowledging his mistakes.

The guy who ended it with "Hi Mom" was the best by far though. Almost cried at a goddamn hall of fame speech...

You gotta figure that other times hes on espn hes just shootin the shit, having a good time and talking football, somethine any of us could do just dont get that shot because we wernt in the NFL and dont have that household. But getting inducted in the hall of fame is a once in a lifetime experience for a very select few, so you gotta think his heart would be in it 10000 times more.

I think that was Charlie Sanders that ended with "Hi Mom," wasn't it? That was a good speech, it brought tears to my eyes.

Great Speech by Charlie Sanders.

Never seen Irvin in that light before. Someone said it before, he was honest about his mistakes. I really this guy has turned it around, I could be wrong.

The greatest thing about making the HOF is not that you are now a football immortal, but you have chance to thank everyone that has helped you in your life. None of us really get that opportunity, to really thank those that have helped us in life.

I thought Irvin did a good job. His speech gave me chill bumps, but I am a Cowboys fan so I can't judge objectively. I was at Super Bowl XXVII so I really enjoyed those highlights. I really didn't think Irvin would "come clean" the way that he did, I was impressed by that. I still think Charlie Sanders stole the show with his speech.
