ITS OK BUDDY
ANY THOUGHTS ON METS/CUBS GAME:think2:
I really don't have a strong feeling or thought one way or the other on this game and may just leave it alone.
If I was absolutely forced to pick a side I would lean towards the Mets doing everything they can to get Glavine win #300.
That being said, I really don't see a clear cut edge in this game for either team. Both pitchers have similar season numbers (Glavine 9~6 with a 4.38 ERA and Marquis 8~6 with a 4.22 ERA) and similar L3 game numbers (Glavine 1~0 with a 6.43 ERA and Marquis 2~1 with a 5.30 ERA). Neither has pitched extremely well and have high ERAs. Slight edge to the run support given to Marquis versus Glavine and the Mets bearing down to get him #300.
Offensively no big edge either....the Mets have scored 2, 6, 12, 8 & 2 runs in the L5 games and the Cubs have scored 6, 2, 6, 5 & 7 runs in the L5 games. Despite the high ERAs, I don't see enough consistent offense from either to lean towards the Over either.
