And if you have - did anyone manage to get their restriction lifted?
As of a few days ago, I was informed that due to "unusual activity", my account was restricted until I provided a photo ID, and a couple of bank statements. Without going into heavy detail, one of the bank statements they want to see concerns a reloadable Visa gift card. I've explained to customer service numerous times over the phone that I'm reloading my gift cad, and that it's not a bank per se, but to no avail. I've shown them an online statement, with merchant names blocked out; but because it doesn't show my address but only my name and account number it's not good enough for their security department. Each time I try to satisfy their requests it's not good enough - I get form e-mails back. I feel like I'm not only running into a bureaucratic brick wall, but I'm living in a police state. From what I've read elsewhere, I'm likely to never get reinstated and they will most likely hold on to my money that I have left in my account at Paypal for 6 months before they give it back!
So be very careful how you use your Paypal account so that you don't end up in the same situation as me! Given today's environment I should have known better, but still this seems a bit extreme.
