tomorrow of course.

the guy is 5-0 with a 0.98 era on the road this year. he's blanked st louis (at petco) for 7 innings, giving up 3 hits and k-ing 10 already this year. after some tough outings with no run support, he's given up 7 hits and 1 run in his last 2 starts (14 innings) with 18 k's.

facing reyes for st louis who is simply just not good.

someone talk me out of dropping the bomb on this one.

I would be surprised if Peavy lasts 6 innings. It will be 100 all week in St Louis, and until you experience that with the humidity, it will wear him down fast.

Been In Card Country In The Summer

a time or 2. Heat & humidity are stifling, good pt. SD BP is better, but he Cards are starting to play up to their skill level. Better pitching vs hitting & weather? I can see U 8.

Did you just say Cards are starting to play to their skill level?? Honestly did you mean on the low end??
Before 10 hits in a row last night--the Cards lost 2 of three to the worst team in baseball the Pirates and got Swept by the Nats. Wouldn't call that midseason form.

I’ll take Jake Peavy over Al Reyes at -150 any day of the week. The Padres are 28-9 in Peavy’s last 37 starts against the N.L. Central, 11-5 in his last 16 overall, and 37-18 in his last 55 starts against a team with a losing record.

Reyes, on the other hand, is 1-10 on the year with a 5.73 ERA at home. The Cardinals are 7-19 in his last 26 starts, 1-7 in his last eight road starts, and 0-7 behind him with regular rest.

Just because st.louis lit a up a tired old man for one inning last night doesn't mean they're back in form.

love peavy, however, that sd team may not even score. they are the most inconsistent offensive team in baseball. i know, they have porked me way too many times

thought i was grabbing a lot of value yesterday when the line came out. i hoped it would move considerably, but it hasn't. oh well, wouldn't be the first time i've been trapped.
