Larry Ness' 15* AL Game of the Week (83-30 with 15* GOW plays since Opening Day!)
My 15* play is on the LA Angels at 10:05 ET. Tim Wakefield is truly a throw-back. He's made 22 starts in 2007, getting a decision in each game (13-9, 4.56 ERA). He's 8-2 in his last 10 starts but one must note that he's allowed less than four ERs in just FOUR of those 10 games. Meanwhile, Joe Saunders is a rarity as well. He's struggled mightily in Triple -A this year but when called upon by the Angels, he's delivered time and again! He made three April starts, going 2-0 with a 1.96 ERA (team was 2-1). He made two "spot" starts in June (team won both) and since the break has gone 2-0 with a 3.32 ERA in three starts (team is 3-0). The Red Sox (68-44) own MLB's best record but are just 15-13 their last 28, as the Yanks have closed within six games. The Angels (65-46) own MLB's 2nd-best mark but haven't been able to shake the Mariners, who trail by just four games. LA won last night (4-2), in a righty vs righty matchup. Tonight however, the lefty Saunders (Angels have won his last SEVEN starts!) gets a Boston team that's just 7-12 (minus-$850) away from Fenway vs left-handers, while the right-handed Wakefield faces an Angel team that's 26-10 at home vs righties, including 19-6 at night (averaging 6.4 RPG). AL Game of the Week 15* LA Angels.

Good Luck...Larry
