Yes, he could have made the same bet with a set and flush drw on the board... but I watched this guy play for hours. I put him on a drw... who knew it was such a BAD drw... (gut shot)... but it's ok.. here's another hand diff table..

what you don't see in any of these hands, is a critical pause before betting. you gotta play with these guys awhile before you figure them out. thank god for online NOTES... if you don't take 'em, better start.

Looks like he also had the nut flush draw, all the chips are going in the middle there.

ya dude - he had nut flush draw on first hand... and you raised too much anyways.....

plus the 2nd hand why push over 8X his raise with KK, thats just dumb.

flat call, let flop come 8 high and him push with JJ

the first hand may seem questionable.. but i had been playing with that guy for hours and I felt i had good odds to clean him out.

as for the KK re-raise... yes, i went way over top because you have no idea how hard it is see a flop at that level. I'm admittedly playing above my comfort because those guys are pushing $100 preflop to steal blinds when they sense limpers.. in retro, my better move would been a raise to 1k and try to entice one caller. truth is.. those punks are HARD core bankrollers. they reload to 2k non stop. this next hand is a bit more strategic. again, the critical online ..........pauses....... are huge

just curious... why no raise on the final QQQ hand?????

only thing beating you is running flush (which was doubtful)

you probaly wouldnt have gotten paid off anyways - but maybe a minraise he stupidly pays off.

i totally understand some of your plays - i used to play 5/10 for about 2 years and it was at the top of my comfort level as well.

keep playing well but be careful, if you have to much worth risking at the table it can kill you b/c you cant make bluffs, etc.. and people pick up on it.

i played at a smaller site and i would see guys move from 1/2 and 2/4 to 5/10 and knew 1000-2000 was a big portion of their bankroll and I could bet them off hands with huge bets, knowing theyd only call with huge hands bc they were afraid - and i was the same way at one point

good luck

on that first hand, he had the nit straight draw, nut flush draw, and an overcard. If he is playing with a proper bankroll for those limits, his chips are going in the middle. A more appropriate play would be to call his raise, and then push on the turn, where he would have a much greater fold equity.

I did raise the QQQ turn card but only for a hundred. The reason is this... these guys are primarily betting to steal on perceived weakness. I was luring him to bet over top of me which works very very well at that lvl of play. i wasn't happy to see the flush come, but it was runner runner and that's the price I pay with my particular strategies. it may look really dumb, but it is the gambler in me. That move can often get a big stack to over bet right there and I have awesome odds pushing him all in

you'll notice in the KK hand I was first to act and I purposely bet minimum knowing full well it was the kind of bet they love to gobble up. sure enough, a raise , a call, and then a beautiful re-raise. The re-raise was definetley a PP and I just couldn't bare thinking of losing that hand. I was on a down trend and I needed the chips and I wouldn't have been surprised to get a call there. If he called the all-in... so be it and I'll feel ok if he gets his card. Those guys are hard core gamblers and might call with 10/10 just cause they want to.

as for being careful.. well.. good advice. I am pretty much safe from going bust at this point though b/c I am buying into the tables half stacked and building from there.

here's the true beauty though. my original deposit? $600 I got it up over 2k playing $3/$6 and just dabbled into $5/$10. I'm sitting right now about 5k, and I am just having fun playing tournys and back down to $3/$6 so I don't have a fcking heart attack.

makes sense. good insight. for him to call a big bet after the turn is a bit tougher than calling with 2 cards to go to get his hand. I am sure I saw the flush draw though i don't state that in my post. I saw the rvr and actually thought I had still won the hand. When the chips swept away I think I deprogrammed a bit while I tried to figure out what the hell happened. I vented on here and missed a critical piece of his hand in the review with the flush. believe me I am very aware of a flush drw on any hand.. in fact, i love playing any two suited cards on occassion just to mix it up. when they catch, its like superman stopping a freight train and the payoff is nice
