pretty cool. Arod looks to be on pace for 800. Would have been interesting to see where Ted W ended up if he didn't spend 5 years in WWII!

Probably about 700...and the only player who possibly could be considered the best hitter over Babe Ruth has to be Ted Wlliams.

Fascinating chart; it really has A-Rod standing away from the pack (and the pace looks like gettting 300 more is a piece of cake--- but we know there's no such thing as that).

However, if I was the person who just had Bonds's 756th homer ball, I would sell it between 1-3 years.... probably sooner the better, especially when Bonds announce his retirement, that's probably the peak of $$ for the value of the ball, IMHO.

j-man i expect more out of you than that broad and wrong statement.
if you are talking power the babe and a few others are on that list. if you are talking hitting you can't leave out rose, cobb, and musial. teddy was the man and there is no telling how many hits he would have had if he hadn't missed all the time he did.

We will never know for certain , But ...Had Williams not missed 4.5 years to the Air Force , he are his aproximate total stats would be as follows

3406 Hits
2306 Runs
675 Homers
2559 Rbis
2582 BB's

According to My calculations

Assuming A-Rod doesn't fall off too badly, you should be able to figure an average of 40 HR's per year. With another 15 or so this year, he'd be looking right at 6 more seasons to get to 756. That takes him to 38/39 years old. Hard to say. If he plays to as old as Bonds, he should break it easy. Lesser of two evils, I hope he eventually breaks Bonds' record.

Notice how Bonds' is the ONLY line that gets steeper ANYWHERE after hitting 500 HR...hmmmmmmm
