I will keep it simple. Just want to know if you think a healthy Scott Podsednik will have a good effect on the Cubs. I personally think if we get him for basically nothing then its a great move to add some depth,speed,and a leadoff hitter until Soriano is back. Theriot is are only other leadoff option.
Sox would be dumb to keep him. Staring at a Wil Ohman-Scotty Pods trade. Thing you have to watch for is can he stay healthy? I would rather the Cubs throw Pie out there every day. He is by far their best fielder. Really the Cubs need someone like Craig Monroe (who has been rumored too) more as he does have some power and has fallen out of favor in Detroit.
Depending on him is like depending on Prior... Pods hasn't stayed healthy for longer then 20 games this year. He is injury prone and can't play through them because if he does he can't run and it takes away half of his game. Defenses have kind of learned how to play him and he is far from young. He may be washed up and at best a bench player. He shouldn't be starting for the White Sox right now and as a Sox fan I would love to get rid of him.
Why don't we do another Karchner for Garland type trade.
Pods would not better the Cubs IMO.
Once again THEMANEJ showing his HATE for the CUBS. Listen I know Pods isnt the same Pods from 05... but he is a proven leadoff hitter who can play both lf and cf. Also he isnt expensive and if can get healthy can be very scary on the base paths. If the Cubs get him for next to nothing, then its a great deal....

Sosa went on to cheat... You can't predict that. You ask for my opinion and I tell it how it is. You are being blinded by 2005. He isn't a proven anything. He doesn't even lead off for the White Sox anymore because it puts to much pressure on him leading to injuries...
He also can not play CF. He is a terrible defensive outfielder who fears the wall. If he wasn't explosively fast he wouldn't get to any balls. He can't play CENTER FIELD PERIOD. He got moved from there because he couldn't play it. He has an awful arm and he can't steal bases like he used to be able to because of constant groin and muscle injuries.
If you think I am being a Cub hater you are wrong. The Sox also aren't going to give him away for nothing. They are going to play off the Cubs desperation and try to get more then he is worth. He is not the Podsednik of old... You can have him.
