The cards are very similar....hope that's a strong trend and good omen for us! BOL Met!!

I want to research the coach-speak as far as which QBs will get the bulk of the reps after the first stringers leave the game. I like Aaron Rogers for GB to have somthing to prove tonight....but if GB is going to give equal playing time to the rest of the QB, then I am not so sure....the rest of the roster is weak, especially Thompson.

PIT has a lot to prove to their new fiery coach and in preseason I place a lot of emphasis on emotion and guys with something to prove. The preseason just means more to some teams than others and PIT came out strong in the HOF game.

If you are interested, I will let you know what I find out after I search our local newspapers and stuff. I also have to be careful (just like with the Brewers) that I do not fall victim to too much local info and homerism.

Pros

GB Head Coach Mike McCarthy returns to his hometown for the first time in NFL coahing career

GB QB Coach Tom Clements who was born in McKees Rocks, Pa., served as quarterbacks coach for the Steelers for three seasons under Bill Cowher (2001-03).

GB Tight Ends Coach Ben McAdoo, a Homer City, Pa., native, served on the University of Pittsburgh staff in 2003.

GB Running Back Noah Herron was a seventh-round draft pick of the Steelers in 2005 and spent time on Pittsburgh's active roster and practice squad before being signed by the Packers in Week 13 of that year.

The Packers and Steelers meet for the 26th time in the preseason, with Green Bay holding a 14-9-2 advantage.

The Packers lead the all-time regular-season series with an 18-13 edge.

Cons

Green Bay is 1-5 in its last six preseason openers and has not won a preseason opener on the road (excluding neutral site games) since 1981 (0-5).

The Packers make their first-ever appearance at Heinz Field, having not played in Pittsburgh since a 1998 trip to Three Rivers Stadium. Only three other teams (Giants, Seahawks and 49ers) have yet to play in the stadium since its opening in 2001.

Notes:

Injury report: Packers - RB Vernand Morency (knee) and RB P.J. Pope (knee) are out; CB Charles Woodson (hamstring), CB Al Harris (back), RB DeShawn Wynn (thigh), tackle Tony Moll (neck), fullback Brandon Miree (neck) and defensive end DeVon Hicks (groin) are doubtful. Safety Aaron Rouse (ankle) is questionable. Steelers - RB Willie Parker (knee), LB Lawrence Timmons (groin) and guard Alan Faneca (shoulder) are out; LB James Harrison (ribs) and center Chukky Okobi (back) are questionable.

Limited debut: Coach Mike McCarthy doesn't want to put quarterback Brett Favre at risk in an exhibition game, but it's important for him to begin developing an on-field relationship with rookies Brandon Jackson and James Jones. McCarthy will try to get Jones on the field with Favre so that the quarterback can get a better feel for the receiver's reactions. Jackson will start at running back and will be a factor picking up the blitz and catching out of the backfield.

Line item: After a fairly solid scrimmage, the starting offensive line will get a chance to go against one of the most aggressive defenses in the league. It will be a good test in defending the blitz, but it also will be a gauge for how the team fares against a 3-4 team. Last year, the Packers struggled against 3-4 teams and weren't able to execute their running game very well. The five starters have been together for entire season and all of training camp, so they will be expected to show improvement.

QB's

Sounds like Favre will be limited and Rogers will get a lot of work.

LAA teased us at the end, winning by 1 run after gaining the lead 4~2 and HOU lost after leading 4~0 through 6 innings. Could have been a really great night, but just wasn't meant to be I guess. Oh-well.

ITS WAS ANOTHER BAD DAY FOR ME:puppy:

I THINK I NEED A BREAK:ughhh:

Nothing wrong with that Primoz. Breaks can be good. Recharge the batteries a bit and then come back feeling fresh. Or sometimes it needs to be done to feel like you can break the slump.

Remember, no matter how much people might enjoy seeing you post, ultimately IT IS YOUR MONEY AND BANKROLL, so don't ever feel pressured to keep on posting if your gut tells you to take a break.

Do what's best for you brother.
