This list is from an internet site (golf.com) I googled, and it goes purely by World rankings...

1) Adam Scott
2) Henrik Stenson
3) Luke Donald
4) KJ Choi
5) Sergio Garcia
6) Rory Sabbitini
7) Steve Stricker
8) Paul Casey
9) Trevor Immelman
10) Niclas Fasth

...so any additions to this list?

Let me start this off by adding Colin Montgomerie, who may not be in the top world rankings now, but for so many years he led the European Order of Merit and was expected to win a Major on many, many occasions.

And only 1 American on that list so let's add some more Americans

Really amazing that he didn't win a major. Before the Tiger era he owned the European Tour and played well over here as well. How he didn't win the US Open at Congressional is still just unbelievable to me.

Also he got close last year to winning the US Open--amazing a guy can be that competitive in majors over several decades.

Always loved his iron game--

As for Americans Stewart Cink is the one that comes to mind-- a decent career and competitive--not outstanding by any means but a solid competitive career.

i think if you're talking in the history of golf , you have to mention fred funk. the guy is 11th in career earnings.

it would have to be between monte and funk for me.

as far as the last 10 years , sergio has to be the guy. hanging around the top 10 in the world for years .

Agree, but....that 7-iron he hit from the 18th fairway in last year's US Open has got to rank with the WORST shots ever!!!!! He could bogey that hole from that spot in the fairway 101 times out of 100....hell, even I could bogey it from there, only I'd need a 5-wood!!! LOL

I thought Fred Funk too-- however he got good later in his career and his game is just not "major" caliber. Doesn't hit the ball far enough.

He is a great player but he goes after the money and plays every week--made great money kind of avoiding the competition. He used to not even go over to the British Open because he could clean up in the events here while the big names were away.

Love Fred Funk great work ethic and he manages his career and game in a different way. He will make a ton of money the rest of the way -- if he doesn't like the golf course he will play the senior tour that week.
