First we had BOS - US DOJ comes calling and they fold like a deck of cards.
Next comes Neteller - Once we get past the fact that their multimillionaire founders are in the US at a time when it is clear they would be better served to be elsewhere, we watch the drama unfold, and a public UK company decides to hand the U.S. government $130,000,000+... What did neteller get in return? As far as I can tell, not much unless they feel they can reenter the US market under a future administration.
Now word comes that Party Poker is considering paying back over $900,000,000 in past profits and 888 is considering paying back over $100,000,000 in past profits from the U.S. Now both these companies left the U.S. before any law was passed outlawing them... Both of these companies approached the DOJ. Neither one had anyone arrested. Both are public companies and follow the laws in their locales.
I don't get it. In general, when a business makes an agreement, both sides must get something.
So, are these companies being told eventually they can enter the U.S. market? otherwise it makes no sense.
WSEX has proven the U.S. DOJ is absolutely meaningless if you stay outside the U.S.
