Why on earth would you want to ban Dave Cokin? He's certainly one of the most knowledgeable guys talking sports on the radio here in Vegas. You don't have to buy his picks(I don't), but you're a fool if you don't listen to his analyses of football games.
Kenny White is on regularly during football season here in Vegas, either 920 or 1460...if you're really interested, I will try to pay attention and list the station and times when I hear him. I listen to both stations but only in my car so I forget when and where I hear someone....they all seem to run together.
Nick B was on a radio show last year hosted by John Kelly in which he traded picks in a contest with Fezzik. Fezzik is going to be on one of the radio shows today...I think it might even be John Kelly's show...I remember I heard it on the radio during the afternoon, between 3-4 PM, I remember because my wife sent me to the store and I was pissed because I had to miss sportscenter.
I know all that. Cokin is the biggest self-promoter out there. He will always pat himself on the back after a good call and will always make an excuse after a bad one. He is knowlegable about sports, yes. But no more than me and you. What just because he works for Jim Heist that makes him an expert? LOL!
Yes, Ken White and Nick are good guys. very approachable and down-to-earth. Jimmy Vaccaro is also cool as hell and very charitable. Dave Cokin is the most annoying motherfucker in Las Vegas sportsradio. He talks over people, cuts off co-hosts (including John Kelly alot), and he works for JIM HEIST! Being associated with Heist should say it all!
So don't listen to him then. But you initially said Cokin should be banned from Vegas radio...that makes no sense! You yourself said, and I quote..
"He is knowlegable about sports, yes." So why would you want to ban someone who can impart valuable knowledge to you?
I realize he works for Feist; he appears on a TV show for Feist, "Pro-Line", I believe it's called, and I wouldn't advise anyone to watch it because nothing of value is offerred. One thing is apparent from the TV show, Cokin definitely has a face for radio, even though his voice is still annoying, I can overlook that as long as he offers something of value and he does that on several of his radio appearances.
The average poster in this forum knows as much as Cokin, he offers nothing fresh or interesting. Guys like Alan Boston and Dave Malinsky are in a whole different league from Smokin Dave Cokin. You are just as capable of giving both sides of a game as Cokin, don't sell yourself short Doug.
