Gamling problem or Losing problem?

Why is it only the people who are losing are the one's that have a gambling problem? You never hear of anyone saying they have to quit when they are successfully winning?:ughhh:

you have to know when to successfully quit also when winning as you will not win forever...if you can not quit while ahead then you will for sure be a loser

most losers win at first. Then they think they can never lose. Then when they lose think they can win it back until they are buried.


They think they can always win it back which keeps them delusional.

Like dante said: Learn to be happy with your wins and you will never lose again.

The major problem is nobody practices money management.Also what about people who can afford to lose without having major financial problems.Do they have a problem such as Barkley and John Daly ?

also, a lot of people " chase" when they are down, thus losing a lot of money when they hit a bad streak. when they win, they usually keep wagering the same amount, so they dont win huge when they go on a winning streak.

I may be addicted to gambling in some form, who knows. Doesn't matter though when you just keep winning.

This is a major problem for the average Tom, Dick and Harry.

Seems to me you are suggesting that "streaks" exist. They don't, but "chasing" does have a harmful affect. When people lose and increase their wagers they are increasing their turnover and this causes them to lose ev at a higher rate. The reason why problem gamblers lose is because they fail to have an edge and gamble enough for the long run to be significant.

I agree in theory, but find that they do happen in the real world.

Playing -EV games---getting a lucky hit---odds catch up with them and start losing-----chase losses------chase more------>> gambling problem.

This problem goes further than gambling. Losing at gambling is a symptom.


Chances are this persons life is out of control in other areas as well.
