Monroe was desingated for assignment. They have a week (?) to work out a trade or release him. I know the Cubs are interested, I assume SD and LA would too.

I dont understand how there is so much about hoopla about the declining amount of black baseball players when almost all the top guys in the minors are black. delmon young, upton's, maybin, chris young, the top draft pick is black to.

Played against Maybin in the summer of 2004, he definitely has the potential to be a great player in the league

Well the Tigers have been through this before. Lets wait and see before we put this guy in the hall.

that was the word I was looking for. Designated for assignment. He is done with the Tigers. They may still get something for him (sure not much).

The Tigers have 10 days to trade him or release him. At the end of 10 days, Monroe can take a demotion to Toledo or become a free agent.
