I remember reading the book "The Odds" a few years ago and all it talked about was how bad the Vegas sportsbooks were dying.

Have been reading quite a bit lately that is not the case anymore. Anyone seen or read any new statistics on this? Probably be a better gauge in the next few months with football in full swing.

Someone posted in here yesterday an article where the owner of the GBC (a vegas book store) how busy it is there right now. Any locals notice a big surge from last summer?

For sports to grow you need LEADERS. Right now the industry lacks leaders offshore and in Vegas. Best 2 books offshore not available to americans. In Vegas there is only 1 competent sportsbook director with any vision its JAy Korneagy at Hilton. Rest of the books are basically robots.
