Analysis:
Milwaukee is 46-67 last 3 years and 7-18 this year when playing against a team with a losing record in second half of the season. Aaron Harang is 12-3 with a 3.50 ERA overall this year, 6-1 on the road this season and 2-1 his last 3 starts. Capuano is 0-3 with a 8.81 ERA his last 3 starts. We'll recommend a small play on Cincinnati today! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

Analysis:
The Indians have seen the "under" go 13-3-2 when playing on Sundays this season and this should prove to be another well-pitched affair. Shields has pitched very well in two starts vs. the Indians, recording a 2.51 ERA and a 0.628 WHIP. Meanwhile, Sabathia is 7-1 with a 2.47 ERA vs. the Rays. Sabathia has a 2.70 ERA his last three starts, two of which finished below the total. Shields has seen the UNDER go 3-0 his last three starts while recording a stellar 2.29 ERA and 0.966 WHIP. Consider a play on the UNDER

NFL Preseason
Ravens -3.5 over Giants
Baltimore looked great in Philly last week and tonight will wear their black jerseys which are only broken out in rare occasions. The atmosphere will be electric for the Ravens taken on a Giants team that looks rattled. New York cant even get their best player Strahan on the field and their defense let up 21 points in the first half to the Panthers last week most of it being the fault of the 1st team. The Ravens have a great run defense and at home they take pride on stopping the run. Eli Manning has never impressed me and he will not have Burress or Toomer in the lineup tonight and Moss might be a late scratch. The Ravens should dominate, but it is only the preseason.

THE SPORTS ADVISORS

NFL PRESEASON

N.Y. Giants (0-1 SU and ATS) at Baltimore (1-0 SU and ATS)

The Ravens looked in midseason form in their preseason opener against the Eagles, and they’ll try to duplicate that effort tonight when they host the Giants in a nationally televised contest.
Baltimore thumped Philadelphia 29-3 on Monday night, easily covering as a 3½-point home chalk. The Ravens rolled up 385 total yards, including 157 rushing, and held the Eagles to just 183 yards, including 23 on the ground. The team’s top three quarterbacks – Steve McNair, Kyle Boller and Drew Olson – were sharp, combining to go 20-for-29 for 197 yards and two touchdowns.
The Giants kicked off the exhibition campaign with a 24-21 home loss to the Panthers as a one-point underdog, snapping a seven-game SU and ATS preseason winning streak. New York’s offense was strong, compiling 289 total yards (156 rushing), but the defense surrendered 353 yards (154 rushing) and allowed the Panthers to average 6 yards per play.
New York coach Tom Coughlin said his starters, including quarterback Eli Manning (3-for-5, 27 yards, 1 TD vs. Carolina), will play well into the second quarter. Jared Lorenzen (6-for-13, 75 yards, 1 TD) will replace Manning, while Tim Hasselbeck, who didn’t play last week, will be the No. 3 quarterback.
Brian Billick did not reveal plans for playing time tonight. However, it’s expected that McNair and the first-team offense will play longer than last week’s couple of series. Boller would replace McNair, while Olson and/or rookie Troy Smith would finish up.
The Giants will be without wideout Plaxico Burress (ankle) for the second straight week, though fellow WR Amani Toomer (knee) is expected to be on the field for about 10-12 plays. Another wideout, Sinorice Moss, is banged up and may not play. For the Ravens, All-Pro tackle Jonathan Ogden is out with an injury.
Including Monday’s win over Philadelphia, Baltimore is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven August home games going back to 2005.
The Giants have won two straight preseason road games, both as an underdog. That includes a 17-16 victory at Baltimore as a three-point road pup in last year’s exhibition opener. In fact, this is the 11th time in the last 12 summers that these squads have squared off, with the Ravens hold a slim 6-4 SU edge.
The under is 6-3 in Baltimore’s last nine preseason games and 6-3 in the Giants’ last nine August contests. Also, New York has stayed low in six straight exhibition road games.
ATS ADVANTAGE: UNDER

San Francisco Giants (118)
Sun Aug 19 '07 1:05p

Dontrelle Willis the Florida Marlins starting pitcher here this afternoon against the visiting San Francisco Giants has had a very turbulent season, as is evident by stretch from June to early August were he went 0-9 along with a bloated 5.14 ERA. Willis has also not feared well against todays opponents in the past going just 1-3 while recording a hefty 5.08 ERA in 7 career starts. His pitching opponent Noah Lowry(13-7,3.28 ERA) is currently at the opposite end of the proverbial spectrum, having recorded a 4-0 mark while garnering a stingy 2.43 ERA in his L/5 starts. Every time Lowry goes to the hill the Giants have a chance to bring home a win. Final notes & Key Trends: Lowry has seen his team convert in 5 of his L/6 starts as an underdog. Marlins are 3-13 L/16 against NL West foes. Play on San Francisco

Sport: MLB
Game: White Sox / Mariners
Date/Time: 8/19/2007 4:00PM EST
Pick: UNDER
Reason: This game features Jon Garland (8-8, 4.63 ERA) of the White Sox vs. Felix Hernandez (8-6, 3.86 ERA) of the Mariners. Although he struggled his last time out, Garland has historically dominated the Mariners; the right-hander is 6-1 with a 2.59 ERA in 10 starts and one relief appearance against the Mariners. He has won his last six decisions after losing his first-ever start to them on Aug. 8, 2000. The total has gone ‘under’ the posted number in four of the White Sox’ last six games on the road. Hernandez is looking to win his third consecutive decision. The 21-year-old right-hander is 2-0 with a 3.25 ERA in his last four starts. The total has gone ‘under’ the number five out of the last seven times these teams have met. This is a good spot for both starters and it should be a duel. I recommend a play on the UNDER!

20* Pitching Mismatch of the Month (16-3 MLB run since Aug 8!)

Play on the Reds at 2:05 ET. Talk about a "tale of two pitchers!" Chris Capuano began the year by going 5-0 in his first seven starts (Milwaukee went 7-0) but he's since imploded. Almost incomprehensibly, the Brewers have dropped his last 15 starts, with Capuano sporting an 0-10 mark with a 6.67 ERA. On the other hand, Cincinnati's Aaron Harang has been MLB's biggest moneymaker as a starter. The Reds are a poor 34-63 (.351) in games started by pitchers other than Harang, with the team losing $2,727 versus the moneyline (at $100/game). However, with Harang on the mound, the Reds are 19-6 (.760) while winning $1,433 against the moneyline. Milwaukee's 8-4 win on Saturday ended a five-game slide and the Brewers are just 16-26 since the end of June. The Reds have already taken five of the eight head-to-head meetings this year and with Harang on the mound against Capuano, will win again here.

VEGAS EXPERTS

New York Giants at Baltimore Ravens
Sunday, August 19th, 8:05 P.M. EDT

Very low total of 33 so even if one of these teams gets into the 20's the game figures to go over. In fact the NY GIANTS are 13-4 OVER when they score 15 to 21 points since 1993. They are also 8-0 Over after a loss by three points or less and have gone over in 7-of-10 preseason tilts with the Ravens.

Play on: Over
