Only place I would stay in the Bahamas is Atlantis. About $300 p night for the rooms and you can get a meal plan for 5 days for about $1000 pp, which is worth it if you plan to dine out at the resort (which is the only way to go).

is the atlantis more of a "family" place or do they still have their own private beach that you can relax on etc?

can't go wrong with this place, only $2800 for the week.

On a serious note, you can get airfare from the east coast, a rental car, and a condo rental in Maui Hawaii for 2 people for about $2400 a week. That'll leave you plenty of money for eating out at some great restaurants. Plus, the island is 10x more beautiful than just staying at a resort. American $, no passport, and no worries about drinking the water.

thanks i will check that stuff out

the only reason why i dont want to go to hawaii is because of the travel, it takes basically a day to travel, so you would lose 2 days

The flight is long (around 12 hrs) from the east coast to hawaii, but trust me, it's worth it for the trip of a lifetime. We took a 10 day vacation to help offset that initial day of travel lag. If you can swing a few extra days of time off, I'd recommend it. Your honeymoon only comes once per marraige.

I'm actually going to that exact resort on my honeymoon in October. It seemed to have the best price for the location and what it included.

Talked to two friends also that have been there recently and they have said nothing but good things about it.

St. Lucia is the nicest Island I have been to. Not sure how good the resorts are but the place is incredible.

juice, what are you paying if you dont mind me asking

$2,800, 7 nights.
All inclusive, it's a little more pricey since I'm in the honeymoon suite, you can knock it down a lot w/ a normal room.

The only all-inclusive I have ever stayed at was Costa Smeralda in Guanacaste of Costa Rica. I thought it was a nice place and a good value.
