They have been telling us for 5 years how insanely great Michael Vick and Michelle Wie are.

I guess they need to fire their talent scout and hire me.

Imho

Tiger Woods and before him Michael Jordan have been the real bread winners for Nike. Michelle Wie still could be worth the investment because of the nature of golf. She still has a chance at 17 to payoff for Nike even if it 5 years down the road if she turns into a very good mature LPGA star. Right now her wrist injury is preventing her from doing anything.

Personally a 17 year woman's golf phenom's failure to win and Michael Vick and his definitely going to jail for real problems are worlds apart in every way, especially as far as Nike is concerned. Vick has turned into a total diaster for the firm while Wie has been dissapointing she still retains potential.

It is amazing how little Nike actually makes (per pair of shoes) after paying all their marketing fees.

I dont believe Wie is hurt. There is no evidence she ever really hurt her wrist. She also said a few months ago her wrist was not a problem.

when she imploded really badly on the course after that, she suddenly said it was a problem. at one tourney she was getting massages on her wrist from a massuese while playing. big joke.

a lot of her problem is she cant hit the broadside of a barn from ten yards away anymore with a driver. its really that bad

Mr. Smith

My point is that it's one thing to cop a plea to a felony with guaranteed jail time to avoid a RICO conviction and not to being able to (especially at the age of 17) fulfill ones promise as an athelete yet.

On one hand you have a total public relations disaster with Michael Vick, on the other hand you have chance to proove yourself in reagrds to Nike that there is still commercial value in a very young and most certainly not washed-up 17 year old Michelle Wie.

The actual physical condition of Michelle Wie's supposedely injured wrist is pure conjecture by the average out of the loop everyday sportsfan. She may or may not have an injury. Only the people most close to her know for certain if the injury is a bogus press release to make excuses for her not winning or a real hinderance to her game to the point that it effects her play enough that she really cannot compete on the LPGA. Time will tell.

Michael Vick is most likely washed up as a pro athelete once his time in prison and suspensions is over.

its hard to trust Wie after she called for an ambulance and got taken off in a stretcher after 9 holes in the John Deere classic when she was like +8 or something claiming she had heat exhaustion.

Lets she she's 16, young in pretty good shape AND FROM HAWAII and she cant take walking 9 holes in Ohio or wherever that tourney is? I guess being from Hawaii she wasnt used to playing in heat or humidity
