I will give that to DirecTV, they will offer some incredible deals if you play your cards right or get the right sales rep.

NEVER pay full price with them when it comes to installation, equipment, or extra channels.

I was on the phone with them for the last 3 hours or so. No lie. They kept trying to say that it had been less than year I left them, and the most they would do is give 20 dollars off my bill for a while. And thats 20 dollars off no matter the package.

I was like screw that. You cant give me the promotional offer?! I kept calling back and fought through being on hold until I got to someone who would do it for me.

thanks, rob...

BTW- did you ever have to give them your social security number & verify a credit check? Thats what the on-line processor asked me to do.

Rob,

How much for installation of the dish? Or did you have it up on the roof still? I remember we tried installing it in college and had a tough time finding a signal. A professional is probably the way to go.

And thats why they play the game.

I called several times. And yes they did a credit check. My stuff be shoddy. It was $ 200 regular dish. $ 300 if I wanted DVR.

At first, that sounds like crap. BUT, you get 5 dollars every month to get it back. AND it gains interest.

Considering you get $600 worth of TV in 4 months for just 70 * 4 which is 280. And actually it is just $65 with the $5 off. It's more than worth it.

I had that call at one point. I hesitated and hung up. I lucked out and got someone to do it without the deposit later on. But I was a returning customer.

I would have paid the deposit though. Are you going to just pay a lot of money for shit basic cable or pay a deposit which is legally yours and be done with it to add a bunch of sweet channels? Have some fun this winter.

It's a 1 year deal. I think it's 2 with DVR.

It's 99.99 in Jan when the promo rate runs out. But you can downgrade to something thats only 50 or so at that time. which I think is just super basic.
