to pay their respects to one of the classiest people who have ever lived.....
"they broke the mold" when sonny died.....was never more true a statement....
the obituary below read...."whatever had he applied himself" to he would have been a success...doctor, lawyer whatever....and that was the truth..
he grew up in the pool halls and gambling joints...learning a trade that would make him one of the sharpest bookmakers around....
i loved being around him listening to stories...(surely embelished)..about the "old" days.....
he was "paul newmans...sting"...."jackie gleasons..the hustler"....and "george clooneys ocean's eleven" all rolled into one......
i have yet to have met a man who would beat you out of house and home....and you still had a smile on your face when you handed the cash over to him....talk about charismatic....
sonny was a driving influence on many a bookmaker here and offshore...
