Mista: I have been devising a system very similar to what you are doing for almost 3 yrs now I have been using it and making a regular profit because of it in mlb. I have found that it takes approx 7 starts which means I start making plays around the last week in May and have found over the last 3 yrs that from late May-Sept it is a very solid system. Over time I have tweaked things a bit in an effort to make money on totals as well. Keep up the nice work, but be very careful in Sept when they start bringing up new players and resting players because I have found i the past that around the 2nd week in sept system is very unpredictable. By the way I am in agreement with all again today:103631605

Very interesting stuff cashflow...thanks for the post.

I also went back and calculated the unit count had we been using 1 unit for each play and the record would be 16-4 (+11.32 Units).

That Zambrano/Cain matchup might be the most misleading stat ever...

What do you mean misleading? In his last 3 starts Zambrano has walked 12, allowed 23 hits and 14 ER's in 17.2 innings of work. In his last 3 starts Cain has walked 4, allowed 15 hits and 6 ER's in 20.0 innings of work.

I don't get how it could be misleading???

I agree 100%. I love underdogs with much better current form. The square public will look at the WL record of the SP and conclude that Zambrano is much better than Cain. Sagarin's season rating has Zambrano at 3.52 and Cain at 3.28. The same holds for the Stl game. Reyes' WL record does not reflect his true ability. Sagarin has Reyes at 3.73 and Hurk at 5.91. In addition, STL has won 8 of 10, and Fla has lost 8 straight.

checked myself. 13-7 for the top 3 games listed each day after 5 innings.

i just wondered since you were making the picks solely based on the starters.

how did beckett vs danks not make the top 3 ??

To be a top pitching matchup you have to walk an excess amount of guys in the three start period and Danks has walked only 3 batters in his last three starts. Also his WHIP is only 1.57 which is not all that bad and makes it possible that he has a good outing. GL today man.
