Booking scared.

NCAA football begins next week and most books still dont have lines posted.

Makes no sense to me.

Alot of people here have bitched about cris/bookmaker, their limits were light this year, but at least they posted early numbers to bet.

Many of the other books should take a cue from how they run things.

Its tough to make any money if you dont book any action.

Even Pinnacle is only booking max 2k on sides and 500 on totals without having to place another bet at increased vig.

I think you are watching too many movies or know too many locals...I know of only two maybe three reputable books that lay off....taking action is the only way to book...:toast:

Offshore world going backwards lately. Now that Pinnacle not available they no longer have nothing on Vegas. There is next to ZERO talent as far as making a line on something out side of copying a home team being favored by 3 in an NFL game.

Tony at 5dimes now has a 50 dollar limit on the 1AA games, even then he is making you lay -115

the only bets you take now are if you have made a mistake........is no reason to have the college up now unless you wanna pound your chest and say i have had it up the longest........your core players i.e. suckers are not gonna play till the week of the game.........so i dont agree with take all the action you can right now it is fruitless

Disagree with you Railbird...Lots of talent here in offshore...any dumb ass can work behind a counter in Las Vegas and OK a limit 500 bet taking orders from bean counters....you are pissed because you can't get down on obscure sports that Vegas does not offer...but that's cool, continue to be a hater of offshore and remember, California is not the only state in the Union....And Pinnacle is available to anyone who wants it and has the contacts to do so..

:lolBIG: You may be correct about offshore talent, even so, it is in another planet compared to vegas. There used to be a time when lv sportsbook managers had to have balls to be in business........that time is long gone. Now they might as well be cocktail ho's!

Agree most of the best books now have lines posted, but the games start next week, so its time to let go of these munchkin limits.

Im trying to give away money and no books (pinnacle included) wants to book anything over 1k on a ncaa total without having to bet multiple times.

Lets go offshore...this isnt supposed to be Las Vegas bean counting 101.

Spot on, saved me typing. Like any Sport at the start of the season the books are never going to know as much as the die hard Fan and they know further down the line when the odds start tightening they will have the Punters on the other foot. By offering low limits the books get the sharps to do their work for them. Best of luck to everyone this Season. :drink:

Amen to that, it's the rare book indeed that lays off any action at all. Small time locals maybe but only because they haven't got the bankroll to cover a big decision.

I think your wrong Wil, Books always lay off but their loath to admit it. For many it has been client driven but recently there's just too many snouts in the trough and trading with punters cash is the only way to profits. You only have to look at Pinnacles ridiculous 4C lines and watch the price going up and down like the proverbial Bridegrooms to see what their at and of course a good percentage of their clientel are also trading. :drink:

All I'm saying is exchanges are changing everyones approach to betting Punter and bookmaker, in fact there really isnt any difference between them anymore. Americans have been slow to jump on this because of legislation and barriers but the off-shore books are well aware of the new climate, in traditional terms Bookmaking is finished as far as 2 horse books are concerned, its all about trading a position and the more of someone else's cash you've got the better. :drink:
