Bad news: The tarp came back on the field at around 9:40 p.m. as another mild front came through. There is no indication that the game will be postponed and fans are still waiting around in the stands, with umbrellas of course. First pitch won't be for at least another half hour.

At 10:11 p.m. EST, the tarp was STILL on the field with some light rain STILL coming down. There is STILL no indication that the game will be postponed, so a game that was supposed to start at 7:05 p.m. EST should start well after all the West Coast games have begun. Meanwhile, the Yankees run the risk of losing a game in the standings without even playing as the Red Sox are having their way with the White Sox in a doubleheader in Chicago.

The tarp is off the field and a time for the first pitch has finally been announced. The Yankees and Tigers will get going at 11:05. With both pitchers starting to warm up, it looks like we are going to have baseball for sure.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesnt a long delay like this favor the road team. I could only believe a delay like this would drain the life out of the crowd. The ones that decided to stay should be tired of having to sit down for 4 hours waiting for a game to start and then another 3 hours while the game plays out. I couldnt see myself having the same enthusiasm I would have had coming into the game. Add that red sox won both games today in their double header think the yanks need and get a win tonight. Made the yanks a heavier play.

When I play the yanks I usually bank on the offense not the pitching. Dont really expect much from these old guys. 40+ years old come on I dont come into the game betting on a pitching gem. I bet on yanks to see that line up do damage.
