If the Seattle Mariners were to make the playoffs, would they be the only team in recent memory to make the playoffs and not have ONE nationally televised game on ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Saturday, etc.? They don't have any scheduled games on ESPN or Fox the rest of the year.

And there's no east coast bias, Ha...

Well they played on ESPN in dice K's debut I think, where Felix threw a one or two hitter.

But seriously, I look at their record and just think "how are they so good" and you never even see them play.

I don't know if it's East coast bias, Seattle just is a smaller market team

If you consider Seattle a Small Market Team. Then what is large market team? On the West Coast on LA and SF are bigger.

in terms of payroll, I'm just guessing that they are on the smaller side

That's right good call. While that is one nationally televised game, they only scheduled that game becuase 1) Dice K's home debut 2) Dice K vs Ichiro.

ESPN shows the games that they think will get the most viewers, its a business not a conspiracy.

They simply are not an interesting team to watch for the average fan its not the medias fault.

So they can't show one Seattle Mariners vs New York Yankees/Boston Red Sox game? Maybe viewers want to watch something different and new, instead of Dodgers/Padres.
