Only A-Rod, Prince Fielder, Adam Dunn, and Ryan Howard currently have more HRs than CARLOS PENA, who wasn't even in the TB opening day lineup. Pena has 30 HRs with no protection in the lineup.

Rick Ankeil hit 32 HR's in the minors ... isn't Pena 2 HR's short of Ankeil?

He's hitting in probably the best young lineup in baseball. Crawford, Upton, Young, Harris, etc. are all very good to great players. Hardly a protection issue.
What's impressive is his average, and the fact he's doing it consistently. He had a 27 hr year in 04 w/Detroit, but hit somewhere in the .240s. I'm sure his career average is under .250, so to be hitting .280/.290 is an accomplishment.

This guy is going to end up with 40+ most likely and no one is going to know about it. Having a hell of a year.
