Just had the draft Saturday night. Its a 10 team league with points for both yardage and TDs. The guys in my league really go QB a lot earlier then in most mocks I have seen. Obviously I need to add at least one QB somehow. Please give my your impressions especially with regard to my WRs. Here is what I got:

(1)(1): Ladainian Tomlinson RB
(2)(10): Travis Henry RB
(3)(1): Cedric Benson RB
(4)(10): Clinton Portis RB
(5)(1): Javon Walker WR
(6)(10): Vincent Jackson WR
(7)(1): Santana Moss WR
(8)(10): Matt Hasselbeck QB
(9)(1): Chris Chambers WR
(10)(10): Joey Galloway WR
(11)(1): Kellen Winslow TE
(12)(10): Anthony Gonzalez WR
(13)(1): DeShaun Foster RB
(14)(10): David Boston WR
(15)(1) Neil Rackers K
(16)(10): Carolina Defense

Here is the breakdown by position:

RB: Tomlinson, Henry, Benson, Portis, and D. Foster

WR: J Walker, V. Jackson, S. Moss, Chambers, Galloway, A. Gonzalez, Boston

QB: Matt Hasselbeck

TE: Winslow

K: Rackers

D: Carolina Panthers

RB: A+

LT is #1. Portis and Henry should be top 10. Benson is about as good as it gets as a 4th RB on any fantasy team.

WR: Unknown

What S. Moss did you get? Santana or Sinorice?

QB: C-

Hasselbeck is decent enough for when you got him but without a backup it's hard to give you much better than slightly below average.

TE: B+

Winslow may join the upper-tier this season if he's not already there.

I really like your draft assuming you can find a way to fit in all 4 RBs.

Kick-ass draft. Best thing that could happen is to have Henry go off early, and parlay him into a upper-tier qb.

Henry at 20th was a coup... I got him 13th and felt fortunate he was still there in my league. Hasselback will be good, just grab a BRoth or MSchaub and I think you'll be ok at QB. Your WR's are above average a solid B+/A- as VJAx will see more balls in his chest than a pornstar. I think Rivers is gonna fucking kill it. Javon Walker and JCut at QB, he'll be fine. S Moss is streaky but can deliver the big games and Chambers has top 10 talent if he can stay healthy and get a lot of throws.

Thanks guys. I think I am going to drop David Boston and pick-up Matt Schaub.

May as well unless your league gives points for being freakishly ripped.

I disagree with how you draft....

4 RB's in a row???

Your WR's are suspect. Vincent Jackson can be a stud, but he hasnt proved anything in the NFL yet.

QB - nothing special, average at best.

Defense - Horrendous

Kicker - OK

TE - Solid

I guess it depends on how you look at it. In most leagues, the bell shaped curve for each position provides you with plenty of options at every position but RB. For instance, what is the difference between most of the receivers? In my league its not much because the third or fourth best receiver (guys I might have had a chance at with 20/21, and these guys are still streaky like almost every WR out there) only outscores the type of guys I got by around 30 points for the year...and almost nobody has more than one of the top WRs. Thus, the difference between the type of guy I got is only about two points a week.

The same goes for QB unless you have the very best. However, there is always a shortage of top-flight RBs. Thus, why waste a draft pick on a receiver that is only going to get you a couple more points per week at best? The RBs more than make up for it, and you can always trade a top RB to get a QB or WR if necessary later on. There is no doubt in my mind that the best and only time to get an RB is on draft day.

As for defense, if you can't get the Bears or Ravens its a crapshoot. The same reasoning as above applies. The top kickers change every year. If you draft a kicker before the last couple of rounds then its my opinion you are nuts.

Who are you guys drafting with?

Henry taken that late in a draft? Who are these people drafting?

Portis going in the 4 round with the 40th pick in the draft? Someone please name 25 fantasy players better then Portis?

Your league is kind of messed up and you don't seem to be playing with the brightest individuals I have ever seen.

The guys in my league go qb and wr very early. Here is the second round:

11. Willie Parker
12. Willis McGahee
13. Carson Palmer
14. Tom Brady
15. Marvin Harrison
16. Drew Brees
17. Brian Westbrook
18. Chad Johnson
19. Steve Smith
20. Travis Henry

The guy who beat me in the commish (losers) bowl last year turned to me in the third round and said "How did we lose to these people last year." I have no idea, but I am the commish this year, so it really happened.
