The Signing Of James Posey Will Put The Big Ticket At The Five. Besides Shaq, Garnett Will Dominate Every 5 In The East. Great Move By Ainge. And Danny Boy Said We're Still Not Done

Shows you how crazy the NBA can be.

Ainge goes from most laughable GM to boy wonder in a matter of a few months.

Still have no idea who the PG is going to be.

Danny should have stayed at 3rd base with the Blue Jays....I really think he is in over his head as a GM......he might have been the most hated white boy in the NBA next to Lambier....

As much as I loved the Celts back then I never loved Ainge and always thought he was a brat or a baby or something. But he had nothing on LameBear lets face it.
I'll give Danny his due right now though. Never thought he was doing good job as GM all these years up until now. HE actually is acting like a man with a plan. Like the fact that they pulled in Posey. He fits in nicely with Celts, is needed by them.

No matter what happens from here on out.

The Celtics have at least TRIED to make themselves marketable again to their now long suffering fans, something both the Knicks and Sixers still need to do for their fans before November 1st..

The Celts have gone from pathetic (last year) to at least vaguely interesting this year, quite an improvement in the NBA these days unless you draft a new 2007 version of the Jordan/Magic/Bird/Hakeem franchise turn around type player by being in the right place at the right time on draft day (no mean feat in the NBA and their damm ping pong balls these days). Teams can't even lose themselves into being able to guarantee drafting a great player anymore because of those friggin ping pong balls.

Win or lose, Paul Pierce finally has someone better than Antoine Walker to play with. Did you see the press conference? Pierce was beaming like he won the lottery.

You can even take it farther than that Wil - aside from the usual top 5 teams in league, Celts will probably draw more interest than anyother mid-tier team. Very intriguing mix now but not sure if it will translate to ticket sales while on the road. Still, tv viewership should go way up. I'll say it again, if the rookies hit the ground running, look out in the East!

Wil...you may be right, but Philly is not going to gamble and trade away their youth in order to bring in a superstar...Philly is finally doing it the right way for a change....:103631605

I hope you are right and it works out for the Sixers. The NBA needs strong franchises in Philly, Boston and New York to flourish, hopefully one of the three will get competitive again soon.

PS. Skins, please keep the thread friendly and respectful. Thanks, wil.

He has seemed over his head at times when dealing with free agent signings and trades, but people need to respect what the guy did in the drafts IMO. He flat-out did a great job drafting young talent, and then used that young talent to get enough veteran talent to make them competitive. So as a Celts fan I'm obviously hoping his first good trade is a sign of things to come.

And I really like the Posey signing, even though it's a relatively minor move.
