Question for journeyman

You posted this is one of the Vick threads...

I think the NFL is slightly overreacting as far as the gambling link...this seems more like a sick game these clowns were involved in to kill time between getting high and going to strip clubs and play station...

oh BTW, who ever said he was going to go broke, he still has 18 million coming to him.

...could you explain this or where you got this information? It is my understanding that Vick has been suspended indefinitely and thus will not be receiving any funds from the Falcons until and unless his suspension is overturned. Also the Falcons announced that they are trying to get Vick to pay back the $22 million in bonuses that were paid to him.

22 of 40 Million....he still has 18 million....his signing bonus was 40 million...they reported today he keeps 18 million of the 40 and Atlanta was trying to recoup 22 of the 40 M....whether that means they get it or not who knows.

Vick most likely has a ton of endorsement deals that have netted him no telling how many millions over the last 5 or so years. Obviously those companies that he has endorsed will now run for the hills but they will most likely have to do it without the money Vick has already earned from endorsing their products.

Bottom line he is a big favorite to be the richest guy on his cell block when or if he ever actually does hard time.

So you misspoke when you said he still had $18 million coming....you meant he got to keep the $18 million he's already got.

And insofar as Peter King's concerns about the Falcons getting their $22 million back, as I posted in another thread, the NFL should make it mandatory that Vick pay back the $22 million before he is allowed to play again in the NFL. Real simple!

he has to be worth 50 M minimum and that is a very safe estimate.

Not exactly...he received 40 M....he has atleast 18 million of that 40 still coming to him....or 'WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP'.....he may get to keep all of it....sorry I offended you because I said 'coming to him' :ughhh:

Yes real simple for a more complex problem, if you get arrested does that mean your job has the right to take back your salary that they have paid you over the last couple of years? ATL paid Vick that roster bonus, he was on the roster hence earned that money. If that is the case even Judge Judy would throw that case out before the first commerical break.

Only my sense of logic was/is offended. Now you say "he received 40 M". But then in your next breath you say "he has 18 million of that 40 still coming to him". So which is it? Did he receive 40 million? Or did he receive 22 million of that 40 million total?

Surely you are aware of the Falcons claim to be going after the $22 million in bonuses that Vick is not due now that he is in viloation of his contract? So if Vick still has $18 million coming to him from the Falcons, what wouldn't the Falcons take that $18 million to cover some of the $22 million that they are going after?
