this incredibly rare feat for clemens (holding an opponent hitless for the first 3 innings of a game) has only happened 758 other times in his career. history in the making tonight.

Wouldn't it be interesting though if Clemens went thru 7 with a no-no in tact?

Would they prop him up and push him back out there?

Remember he's never thrown one.

Well besides the Smart ass remark from Prodigy....What I meant was that The Clemens we Know NOW.....TODAY !

Plus the fact he hasn't Pitched up to par this Season....3 Innings...NOW it's 4 Innings ...For him....a No Hitter will not last long !

Would be Funny if he did pitch a No No....but the Odds would be Soooo High ! Don't think he has it in him...Plus we are talking about the Red Sox here..

Not having Manny is just killing us.

Do you ever think that they don't want best line-up in tact for this series in case of sweep? Seems to be a built in excuse for alot of pro teams in recent years.

sorry if you were offended.
but if you are surprised that roger clemens, at ANY age, went through the lineup one time without allowing a hit, i have to question how much baseball you've seen. if you made this post after 6 innings of play, maybe. but 3 innings? one time through the lineup? that probably happens 10 times a week around mlb. again, sorry if you were offended. just not sure what else to say if you're surprised by arguably the greatest pitcher of all time being sharp to open a game at home.

I'm starting to take this serious. This is one weak line up we have out there.

Not Offended at all....But I made that statement because of the Way he has Pitched this Year... Even though he is one out away from pitching a No No in 5 Innings !

I see your point. I read a thread at the post the other day and even the NY fans were down on him.

Thru 5 has the NO NO going.

Yanks would be foolish to let him go out there and kill himself with 130 pitches just to try and get it...

Remember what happened to Schilling when he took a no no into the 9th vs Oakland, he wasn't the same and eventually went on the DL.

He does NOT have great stuff. Not many K's and he is throwing 88-91. Sox making him look good which we have done to a few pitcherrs this year. Too good.

As a diehard like many others here--I am not afraid to say I am very concerned.
This lineup tonight is poor at best. JD and Coco are as close to useless right now as you can get. Hinske is now just a hit over .200 and hitters like Lugo and Dustin are not really scary.
They need to keep taking pitches and stop the ridiculous swings. Wish Beckett had come up bigger in the 2nd. Trouble in Beantown

I dont feel much watching this game. Seems lame to me or something. I think I just want to see the Yankees die for the year playing baseball and I dont want it to be our job. I know, it sounds crazy. This just isnt doing anything for me.
