How did Jamie Moyer, of all pitchers, hold this offense to two runs???

The Mets are a very frustrating team

Yes Yes.....Moyer scored the go ahead run too because Perez walked him to lead off an inning!!!! Actually, they had bases jammed with 0 down and only managed a Sac fly so we are lucky to still have a shot at this one.

And Marlon Anderson makes the biggest bonehead move to end the game.

What the hell happened? My browser was frozen for the longest time.....I figured something off the wall happened bc that is usually the case when I get a long delay like that....Mets had 1st and 3rd with 1 down and only needed a SAC FLY......I suppose that horses ass Sean Green hit a freaking grounder.....then what happened?

A slow roller to short was probably gonna be a DP. Looked like Marlon Anderson shoved the 2nd baseman as he was trying to throw to first. Was called for interference (a good call IMO - had no action on this).

There was a slow grounder that would have scored chavez. (It would have been close but Green should have been able to beat it out.) Marlon Anderson decides to take out the second basemen with his arms. Game ended on an interference.

He didn't have to do it.

Did he touch the bag with his right foot ???

Did he ?

I couldn't tell. I do know this = IF he did?

Bad call.

If he didn't? Good call.

I watched and i THINK his foot touched the bag. That, even in slow pitch, is NOT interference, just tough baseball ala Ty Cobb.

My thoughts only, if he hit the bag in any way? No prob.
If he did? Good call. I couldn't really tell, anyone got a great Plasma tv??

I'm a Mets fan and it appeared to be a good call and a dumb play by Anderson.

There was no way they were turning a DP on that play.

I continue to find more ways to lose...

let's see this season I've lost on a balk, the stupid rule that in regards to games being suspended, and now on an interference call..

Absolutely. Rollins even had a little trouble getting the ball out of his glove which made it even tougher to turn.

You are correct, although I think it would've been close. I initially saw the play on a small screen via mlb.com (the gamemix matrix). Watching on that makes it sometimes challenging to judge things accurately.

I looked three more times. Anderson DID, in fact, hit the outside of the 2nd base bag with his right foot. Yes.

Does anyone know the actual MLB rules on that ? I was under the impression, that if the runner runs OUTSIDE the baseline, or does NOT touch the bag in an attempt to impede a throw, then he is out.

IF, he touches the bag, sliding or otherwise, he is SAFE and it is up to the thrower to throw the damn ball. I don't even think he was tagged, and he went TOWARD the shortstop, only because, he was on the INSIDE of the bag.
Hell, I've seen the runner slide WAY outside the bag, and have never seen a call of interference.

I don't know about this call. I say it was not a good one.

I think if he did not take his arms and shove Iguchi while he was throwing to first, there would've been no interference called. Iguchi was way out of the base line when he was hit as Anderson extended his arms toward the 3rd base side to shove him.
