Those of you who are focused upon worrying what squares and sharps are playing each and every game.

First and foremost, comfortably place yourself into the square category, for thats most likely where you belong in the grand scheme of things.

The few guys I see here actually winning, spreadbeater, skinsraj, pops69, coach, these guys each week are on some of the supposed squarest plays and still win.

Good luck to all this season.

I don't really buy into the whole square/sharp thing....well maybe the square....but just because you go for the non popular pick doesn't mean you are sharp

I have no idea... some people think they are real big shots around here and think that we're all sharps and some think we're all squares.

Lets be a little humble and call ourselves squares. Percentage is more important to me... I think that's what makes a sharp. Not making $10,000 on one game--that's complete bullshit IMO.

Consistency is what should make you a sharp. A guy who could win 80% I would rather tail him than some douch that lost every game and cashed in on one $1M play going 1-30. Bulllllllshit.

A square is someone who "thinks" they are sharp. A sharp is someone that "knows" they aren't square.

A sharp is informed of line moves. A square is not. Otherwise there is no difference.

Can we come up with another word. Getting sick of those two.

How about we add a stiff and a sucker?

Now we got some real categories.

there was a thread here a couple years ago trying to come up with a better word for a super square. I think the consenses was to use the term "cube"

A square to me is one who chases and must have action at all times....

Ive always been able to get down before moves and know direction, but im a true action hound and thus I pay alot more often than I collect.

One thing Ive noticed in my 2.5 years here is that the people posting about sharp sides, fading public and squares, post alot more losers than winners.

ILMW & Jman, without the coach around, I just wouldnt feel the same posting during fall months.

Remember a VD thread last year during basketball season regarding someone posting about what side books need. The only people that know what side books need is the books themselves.

What too many dont realize is that a book can have one hundred $50-100 "square/public" bettors on a side, and one 10k bettor on the other side.

Which side do the books need in that scenario? Sometimes the games "everyone" is the side the books are cheering to win.

fading the public is more to me about getting the best number then the best side. and since the books move a line according to where they "think" money will come in on and then again when it actually does, imo the side with the best number will pay off in the long run.
