How the hell do you guys get out of bed on Saturday and Sunday morning and start watching football at 9:00? Assuming you guys like to party as much as us East Coasters you must still be hung over at game time.

I prefer having all morning to roll out of bed and prepare for football. But then again you guys are probably much more productive Monday and Tuesday because you are not up until 1 am catching the last game or MNF.

I have often thought about that. I could deal with it. There are pros and cons but it would fine with me. Late games get over earlier too. 1 AM many are tired and can't watch anymore but out there it is 3 hours earlier. As far as preparation, well that is what Mon thru Frid are for.

In vegas, it's MUCH worse.

You have to be out of bed by 7 on a SATURDAY morning to check the lines, research, hit the RX..

you barely have time to run down to the book to get action down.

The strange part is how the majority of games are over before dinner out there.

It's the greatest thing in the world bro. Of course, we've lived with it all our lives and know no different, but I would be jumping out of my skin if I had to wait until noon to see the first college game, and I doubt I would make it until 2 am to see the last one because I'd be so shithammered.

Love rollin' out of bed and watching football from 8:00 am to midnight...might even participate in the late late show hawaii game

With that wife of yours, I don't think I would ever get out of bed.

Thanks man, I'll pass on the word to her. She's not a big football fan either, it's the one thing we don't really click on.

Actually it's pretty cool to get up knowing that football is getting ready to start. It's great to be eating breakfast while getting lines and doing some handicapping. Of course dripping jelly on the keyboard gets old quick.

It's also nice not have to stay up until midnight or beyond to watch Sunday and Monday Night Football.

Not to mention that even into October or later, you can be laying on a raft in your pool on a Sunday afternoon and be watching the game on your pool TV! That doesn't suck much!

It helps that I am a morning person and that I am a football fanatic.

I grew up on the east coast and moved out west when I was 21. At first it was disorienting. However, once you acclimate to the time it is fantastic.

NFL starts at 10 am so you have a little more time than you lead on. College games do start at 9 and it is great. Before I got married (when I was going out and getting wrecked all the time) I would just wake up and lie in bed during the first games flipping back and forth. It was fantastic just watching games from bed. After first games I would leave and get something to eat (lunch time). Best part is that games are over by roughly 10, which still leaves plenty of time to go out. MNF is a happy hour event after work instead of an all night affair like it is on the east coast, that too is nice.

The worst part about being on the west coast is that you miss the noon (eastern) ABC games. West Coast ABC doesn't start carrying games until noon (Pacific) and then typically they have the second game as some crappy pac 10 affair. That is the worst part, having to watch USC run roughshod through the Pac 10 or some shit OSU team playing Cal or Stanford or UCLA or whatever. I resolved that by getting east and west coast feeds of the networks so I don't have to watch as much Pac 10 football.

The most disorienting thing is going to/living in Hawaii. We were there on vacation during the NBA playoffs in 2006, roll out of bed, go to the pool at like 9:30 or so and the playoff game was not only on but one was OVER

I go to bed at 1am and get up at 9am so I get a full 8 hours worth of sleep and still get to watch the early games. No problem.

Then I get to stay up late and watch the Hawaii game as well.
