I'll never understand how everyone's heart doesn't bleed with compassion for people that commit suicide. Just knowing that someone felt so hopeless that they felt like the only way out was to take their own life. I just found out a few hours ago that a childhood friend took his life on Tuesday. His girlfriend committed suicide 9 years ago after dealing with rape trauma for two years. I'm pretty confident that those who commit suicide do so as a last resort after much contemplation. It's a final decision, and one that cannot be reversed. And if someone is in that much pain, who are we to ask them to live for our sake? Is it selfish on their part, or on your's? It's the end of self, and nothing is gained. To be selfish, there has to be gain.
