Heading to the outer banks this thursday(due to the mention of it from some of you posters) with the gf for a week. Staying in a house on the beach in Corrolla, which is the northern outer banks. Anyone have any suggestions for food at all, I'm sure we'll just be hanging around relaxing most of the time, but probably try to eat out a few times.

Also we are going during week 1 of the NFL and I'm sad I won't have my 4 TVs and sunday ticket on sunday but luckily the Bengals play on monday night, I thnk we have shitty tvs though, any nice bars in the area thatd have the game on?

Hope you enjoy Matt. Buddy of mine just got back from there as he had to cancel a trip to Mexico because of the hurricane.
It's a relaxing place and I can't give specific restaurant recommendations but there are some excellent seafood places.

hey how is driving through the allegheny at night? you stay right on I64 I think so I wouldnt think it'd be too bad? I just remember driving somewhere in Tennessee late night a long time ago and it was intense and don't really need to do it again.

Be careful of the speed traps in the Western part of Va. and N.C. I got a ticket driving back to Vegas, going down a big hill and at the bottom was a copper.

just ordered me a slingbox so I'll be able to watch the Colts/Saints on the road while the gf is driving, or at least I hope to, something will probably go wrong.

Matt-

I have a place in Kitty Hawk and know the area really well.

Corolla is WAAY up north...there are only a couple of restaurants up there. Can't go wrong with any of them. If you or your other like to cook, stop at Tommys' Market in Duck on the way up. Nice selection of high end foods and lots of fresh seafood. Grab a container of their crab dip and some nice crackers for when the sun is going down on the beach. With a nice bottle of wine or some great beers? :103631605

As far as further south... If you get a chance, there is a GREAT little local bar down around Milepost 11 on the beach road in Nags Head. Tortugas Lie is the name. It is perhaps the best place on earth. Great music, fantastic food. Order the creole crawdads for an appetizer and you will be living the high life. Maybe hit it for a late lunch and then climb Jockeys Ridge to watch the sun set over the bay.

Have fun.

Yup, Its looking that way. I was there when Hurricane Dennis hit in 99'.. Ruined the whole damn vacation and closed down the town. That son of a bitch even doubled around and hit us a second time. Even though it didn't make a direct hit it did a lot of damage. Hopefully this one will steer clear.

I bought a slingbox about 4 months ago. It was a great purchase, and I couldnt believe how cheap that they are. They are cheaper now than when I bought one.

Matt, check out this website below. I won this tournament, although it had a different name, in December. If you can show up, you would roll. It is around 6 hours from Tunica if I remember. If you show up, then I can get you free accomodations and food. I am already signed up for the $500 tourney and the $2000 tourney. I dont believe that I am playing in the other ones though

those tourneys are too far away, I'm never ever going to ever drive to Tunica again, at least I dont think. The Denny Crum Poker Open is going on at the same time as that and I'll be playing the $1986 buyin down at Caesars Indiana.
