I'm new to poker tourneys. Is $120 all it costs or are there buy-ins also after the tourney starts? Any idea how many people they payout?
I might be interested also.

I'm no expert at the poker tourneys (just did an online search and always wanted to play at CP)

From what it sounds like, there are usually about 70 ppl (i'm guessing a little more since it will be on friday) and the top 9 get paid...

this is a freezeout....no rebuys and no add-ons....everyone gets one chance and one chance only (not sure about late entries)

I've played in this tourney a few times...on a friday there will probbly be around 100 entries paying top 9 or so...it is a freezeout..(no rebuy/add ons)...the blind structure is pretty decent...its the last good tourney each night...(the midnight/1am/2am/3am tournies have mostly fast blind structures)....here's a link to all the tournies in town to help some of you out.

so you give this one a :103631605 ?

tell me if I'm correct here, assuming 100 people:

1st)$3420
2nd)$1800
3rd)$990
4th)$720
5th)$630
6th)$540
7th)$450
8th)$360
9th)$270

something close to that?

$120 + $0 is misleading.

More likely it is $100 +$20. Meaning $20 off the top goes to the house and not to the prize pool.

Caesar's does have some pretty good structures. Me and Paul played a $200 (which was actually $165 +$35) and it lasted 9 hours.

The only other downside is they will give you a tax form for anything over $600 cash no matter the buy-in.

that is ridiculous (the tax form)....i forgot but I have heard this.....but does this apply to every casino....my friend (shdw02) once split a final table deal, got like $700+ and didn't get a form...??

yeah, I did notice it says $120+0 but I honestly think that it is $90+30....not sure why they list it as such.....9 hours? how many ppl?

I would rather us get our own game together.

what do you mean? we have an rx tourney on satuday....

i guess if we could round up 9 or 10 guys, we can go to CP and try a sit-n-go.....that might be fun....but those daily tourneys sound fun too....either way I'm game...if no one comes up w/ anything, that is where I'll be though

we could do a $120 (100+20) w/ 10 ppl and payouts would go $500-$300-$200.....I would enjoy that w/ 10 rxers (I got a buddy w/ me and shdw02 so I can supply 3)

It is a Harrah's policy. Our buy-in was $200, I won $870 something. Less than 4X my buy-in and still got W-2ed.

The tournament we played had like 43 people. They gave you 7500 chips to start, 40 min. levels.
