So I opened up an account at BookMaker last week and deposited some money. Tonite, I go to live chat to request my bonus... the customer service guy said that I need to deposit an additional $300! And that anytime I make a deposit, I have to call within 24 hours to get my bonus

Im the type of person that reads every little specific with anything, and I did not see a DAMN thing about calling in within 24 hours to get my bonus.

Wil? sup with this?

I think the site says you have to claim within 24 hours. I know it does at Diamond.

I think I've seen it, also. I make sure it gets credited right away, if I want it.

In the current environment for offshore books, they should pay this bonus regardless.

I went to the bookmaker website and dont see anything at bonus/new accounts link about claiming the bonus within 24 hours.

Any site that let's you claim your bonus retroactively needs their heads examined.

I'm sure this was not what you personally were doing but this is what many scammers try, and why the rule is there at every book I know of.

Here's how the game is played......Scammer opens account and sends money. Scammer bets and wins. Scammer withdraws immediately because he didn't take a bonus and therefore has no rollover to meet.

If however the scammer bets and loses, he calls CS after-the-fact and asks for his bonus that he never got so he can keep playing without sending more money.

Free shot for the scammers, thus the rule.

If its the rule, then so be it... but my beef is that I did not see anywhere that said "24 hours"

Mason, since Ive never tried to scam any book out of a bonus, I never realized the logic for those types of rules.

Fwiw, knowing hellah personally, he is a regular player and isnt trying to scam any book out of a bonus with a new account hit, win, withdraw, and run.

He will most likely remain a customer at this book and thus its a good business decision for bm to pay a bonus that hellah, a long time regular here is entitled to receive.

Id guess he made several bets at bm this weekend instead of a single all or nothing bet.

What was the original deposit amount?
If less than $300, you do not qualify for any bonus.

Hellah10, I just woke up and turned on my PC and noticed this thread, contrary to populsr belief I do not work 24 hours a day it just seems that way.

Anyway, send me your Bookmaker.com account number, and the amount of the deposit, plus your poster name (I get a lot of email) and I will see if I can be of some help.

I was in a heated conversation with 5dimes in a live chat about a bonus program they have for preseason and after the super bowl. After telling them I knew nothing about there fine print rules and making threats to go elsewhere they ended up giving me a very generous bonus of $563 based on last years losses.

now i know why these books play these damn games all the time. they assume everyone is a scammer from the start.

thanks for clearing that up.

Not saying Hella is a scammer. Not my intention at all, just pointing out this is a favorite angle that the shot takers use and therfore, why this rule is in place at most books.

Me personally, I usually explain that as per the website we don't credit bonuses retroactively but since they're new, we'll be happy to make an exception but in the future, yada, yada, yada.

It sounds like this may all be a mure point though as it's starting to sound like Hella simply didn't deposit the amount required to receive a bonus?

gbogo: Sadly there are small minority who ruin a good thing for everytone and force the books to be highly security conscience.

Yeah, a catch-22 situation for books & real potential long-term customers when the new customer wants a bonus after a 24-hour period. Usually the book will oblige, but I can understand their view that they simply cannot list ALL rules for every transaction they do: bonus deposit, rollovers, Bonus Play rules (whether moneyline bets are permitted, and/or permitted only up to -200, etc etc etc).

Though, it seems like the standard these days about "needing to request bonus within 24 hours of a successful deposit" as well as how a small freeplay (the ones that books give you rather than based on a percentage of your initial deposit) would need to be claimed within 7 days. The larger freeplays where it's based on the percentage of your initial deposit usually expires after 30 days. Some books don't really seem to have those stipulations, but I go by the rule of "if I see it at more than one book's website, it's better that I comply with the rule even if this other book doesn't say anything at first until we ask too late."

Hope you get the bonus, hellah10!
