Got a DUI about nearly two years...it's expunged now.

Been with the same insurance company since I was 16...they haven't picked up on yet even though I've switched addresses a few times with the insurance (even states).

Probably going to get a new car; what is the process the auto insurance companies do with the new quote (they ran new quotes everytime i moved too)...

Should them picking this up be a concern?

What are the chances?

Thanks.

explain expunged ? I think they go back 5 years. I also believe I'm not being charged with it, so I remain at the same company. Mine is about 4 years old.

expunged is court records, the only remaining evidence of my DUI is sealed at the court (I believe).

Had the opportunity for it to be done at cost (from a friend)...so $30 was a no brainer in my opinion.

think i'm in the same boat since the company hasn't changed my price (actually it's lowered).

I also never really "plead guilty", entered ARD which is a fancy term for community service and fines for not having to plead guilty.

just wondering if they run a new policy with a new car whether they will pick it up now.

I think DMV is different, so it may show on driving record. How are your rates ?

My rate is really good

never had an accident, perfect driving record (minus the DUI), no points, etc.

My rates didn't increase much with a new car. I choose to stay with old company until this ages past 5 years.

I believe this is what is accurate.

No a days you can add/remove cars online....no big thing with car swap on policies

Yes, almost a year ago
Twin City Fire Insurance Co. ( part of the Hartford)

I've also dropped cars, but I'm afraid to switch companies.

the experience period is only 3 years, 39 months in new york, it will not factor into the rating

I looked at comparing rates at a few sites. Several asked if any violations in the last 5 years. I didn't even submit rate requests, don't want any inqueries into record, in case that somehow gets back to the Hartford.

How do all these companies know when your insurance is ready to expire ? They all send out ads at that time.

They probably already know but chose not to raise your rates because your a long time customer. The exact same thing happened to a friend of mine a few years back and his rates never budged, he also bought a new vehicle a couple years later. I know its hard to believe but not all insurance companies are money grubbing jerks.
