ok guys, looking for some jersey experts. I have been searching on google/yahoo trying to find a good website that shows the comparision between fake and real. Found one decent one, was hoping maybe someone had a really good one with pics.

Any help would be great, especially if you are someone that knows alot about this.

The fakes have shiney numbers. Goto the mall and look at foot locker you will be able to tell. If you buy it on Ebay and it is under $100 it is fake and if you pay $295 for an authentic good chance it is real. If you want a real jersey NFL.com or the mall. If you want a fake Ebay anything in the 25-75 range. Some of the fake are just as good or better than the real deal and most can't tell them a part. The number is the sure way to tell it will almost be glossy.

-FH- buys authentic MLB jerseys on Ebay for under $40 that sell in some places for $179 or more. He just purchased a Manny Ramirez jersey last week for $38.

many fake ones have iron-on names and numbers. Real ones are always stitched to the fabric

The thing about the fake authentic jerseys is they are better quality then the replicas that NFL.com sells.

Not to burst anyones bubble here, but just because the number and letters are sewn on doesn't make it authentic. If you paid $48 for an "authentic" jersey, it isn't authentic. Here is the breakdown.
The cheap jerseys with the screen print name and number. Sells for $40-$50 in the stores (Champs, JC Penny, etc.).

The next step up is the authenreplica jersey. This sells for about $100-$125. It has the number and letters sewn on. It could pass for an authentic jersey. I thought they were authentic at first.

The authentic jerseys sell for nothing less than $190ish to $325ish depending on the team. It has the number and letters sewn on and is pretty heavy compared to the authenreplica jersey. Also some stretchy material in the shoulder area.

There are some cases were you could get authentic jerseys discounted especially when a player leaves that team and goes to another.

Those who bought their jersey on E-bay for $50 most likely don't have an authentic jersey. I'd say 90% of the jerseys sold on E-Bay aren't authentic. As you could see by the replies above the majority of people can't tell the difference between an authenreplica and authentic jersey. If you don't want to plunk down the extra money an authenreplica is the way to go. If i was walking by you from 15 feet away I most likely wouldn't know the difference. If you were 2 feet in front of me, I could tell. Hope this helps.

This is a good post.

Except for MLB I've never seen authentic jerseys over 200, generally between 150-200. Even the most popular Yankee authentics are $155 on West 42nd. Perhaps you're talking strictly NFL.

If you're getting an authentic for $50 dollars it's used, torn, or fake.

did you get a fake Auth josh??..... if so that sucks
I'm pretty sure I got one that's Authfake. But I still like it better then the official replica I've bought. They're put together better and are cheaper too.

Jerseys are a huge market, especially NFL, I would not be surprised if people went to that length. Not really that much effort actually.

But as somebody mentioned, the fakes are just as good as the real. Only a select few really notice. It's like sunglasses, I can never tell the difference between my $60 dollar pair and my girlfriends $350 versace - as most can't. But some do.

That is the point. About 99% of people won't know the difference. Personally I won't wear anything less. If you think about it the smart thing to do is get the jersey a step below and save a hell of a lot of money. Now there are also counterfit authentic jerseys. From what I hear they come close. Don't confuse this with the authenreplica jersey. They are licensed were as the counterfits aren't. Why would the people on E-Bay sell "authentic" jerseys for $50? Think about it. They aren't authentic. Hey, I bought a 1984 Donruss Don Mattingly rookie card for $10 in 1990 and thought it was a deal. Turns out it was a fake. It still burns me up.

This what I was saying in the 1st place. You may have gotten the real Dante but that was a 1 in 100 deal. Did it have the NFL hologram if so it is more than likly the real deal. The tags are very esy to fake and sometimes the tags are real and the jersey is fakeThe jersey come out of Korea China and other countries that are known for knock offs. The material on the jersey number is matte on the real ones if it has a gloss to it you don't have a real jersey. If you have a fake jersey autographed you can tell right away the ink will run on a fake jersey due to the material the number is made of. Remember you get what you pay for. There is a company in Vegas on Ebay that sells good jerseys I havent received any fakes from them not sure what the name is but he list serveral of them. A seller from Korea will tell you it is a China type jersey if you ask him which is fake or knock off. I by close outs from large chains and yes every now and then you can get a good deal on football jersey very seldom do baseball jersey get discounted very much unless the player changed teams.

I can hook you up with a Korea Supplier that will sell you knock offs for $25 plus shipping but you have to buy them by the dozen. Dozen of each team is what he quoted me last time. I did buy 36 Vince Young Pro Bowls from him to have signed. They looked real good too.
