Me, shdw02, and a friend of hours took off 10:25 Hawaii time thursday night....I can't sleep for shit in the plane so even though I was dead tired, it was a bitch sitting in an airplane for 5 and a half hours.
Finally arrived in Las Vegas at 6:45 AM Friday morning (today)....gonna be here for 3 days/2 nights so I was all for only carry-on baggage but my friend wanted to check bags in so we had to wait an add'l 20 min waiting for the bags....A
ll the action this week is at Planet Hollywood, so we decided not rent a car. Shuttle from the airport to PH is $7/person (3x = $21) so we figured cab is cheaper. The cab guy escorted us to the taxi....a fairly large woman approaches us and says "where to"...i reply "planet hollywood"....immediately she says "FUCK"...all 3 of our jaws drop and we are semi-afraid....I ask her if there is something wrong. "fuck yeah there is something wrong, planet fucking hollywood?" and as I am about to take my bags out of the trunk (in fear), she says "not your fault, but I waited two fucking hours and the ride I get is planet fucking hollywood"
seriously, she had a nervous breakdown in the car about how she needs an operation and can't afford the doctor bills with short rides to PH...at some point she pissed me off but I was deathly afraid the whole time in the cab. Shdw02 and I threw enough jokes that her crying went to hysterical laughing by the end of the trip....Fuck, what a shitty start to vegas.
we went to check in w/ the $20 trick....although we altered, tried to check in 2 rooms (shdw01 and shdw02) with 3 $20 bills individually folded so it looks like a hefty tip. The girl at the desk was pretty smooth, tried hard to hook us up but told us 3-hour wait! yikes....we ate at the cafe, played craps, blackjack, slot machines (deal or no deal) and shdw02 and my friend are even while I managed to lose $500....(mostly on roulette) Vegas is trying to break me down!
3 hours go by, we go to get the room keys....only 1 room available...the one for shdw02.....SOB!!! WTF...they tell me 30 more minutes so we check out the "upgraded" room (not bad actually) and 45 min later I go to get my keys....NOPE 30 more min!!!! ahhhh.....
