I AM officially gonna check out the USF area for a hotel that would be a fair cross between comfort and pricing.
Nothing in the following list calls for more than a 10mile cab ride from any one point to another.

1) Friday, 8pm The Ice Palace downtown - Lightning host Washington

2) Hard Rock Casino on northeast side of town - open 24/7

3) Sat, Nov 17 Louisville at USF (Raymond James Stadium..home of Bucs)....The kickoff time is not yet announced, but I kinda think that the Bulls will push for a night game

4) If FISHHEAD could get up some action at Tampa Greyhound, we'd have that going on in Saturday day.

5) Hard Rock Casino on northeast side of town - open 24/7

6) Just a couple miles from USF is Skippers Smokehouse...a solid steak and fish joint with a great oyster bar and an outdoor covered stage with live bands. The outside music area is set up like a beach bar with picnic tables and sand -capacity about 350. Easy priced drinks and the oyster bar sports a half dozen smaller sized televisions for CFB and/or NFL (they're open Sunday from about noon til 10pm)

7) Less than ten miles straight down 275 is downtown Tampa and Channelside area (same area as for Ice Palace

8) Hard Rock Casino on northeast side of town - open 24/7

9) Sunday...Bucs on road at Atlanta....plenty of places to watch big screen, alcohol drenched football. Including:

10) Hard Rock Casino on northeast side of town - open 24/7

11) Those interested in The Association are just two hours distant from 6pm tipoff in Orlando for Magic hosting Boston Celtics.

12) Oh yeah....STRIP CLUBS like pretty much everywhere, including a nice stretch just south of Raymond James Stadium.

13) Tampa Zoo and Busch Gardens in Tampa open Sat/Sun in sad case you're laden with non-Rx friendly females and/or kids.

MY LOCAL buds here in central Florida are welcome to add to this....local emails welcome....

WILHEIM or other Mods, you are welcome to share my email with trusted members - I'm confident in your judgement.

FRIENDS, I realize this time slot doesn't work for all, but if we put something solid together, it could make for a good model to replicate in March 2008 (Spring Training, NBA, NHL, HardRockCasino 24/7, Strip Bars......yep, yep, yep)

14) Golfing pretty much everywhere and November is a really, really nice time to hit.

15) Beaches of course, though in November it's likely too frosty for most....but then I've been told that you hardcores from above the Mason Dixon line might give it a go since it is the Gulf side.

16) Clearwater Beach on Sat/Sun if nice and sunny would have a fair crowd at least walking the beach and circulating around the beach bars....Sports watching possible, but would need FISHHEAD to clarify where. That said, you'd be investing a solid one hour drive through weekend traffic to get there from the planned USF side of town.

SIDE NOTE...I can also look a bit more towards the airport/Raymond James. It would put us about an extra ten miles to Hard Rock Casino though.

Ford Ampitheatre - home to most of the bigger music shows - is right across freeway from Hard Rock Casino. Nothing currently listed for that weekend, but it will be booked Fri and Sat for sure.

In fact I hereby denounce the idea of going to Tampa Greyhound for cards and nominate an Rx Florida Falltacular Golfing Tourney at a place named by those who know best places for such chicanery.

We could likely set some true betting odds and allow non-attendees to gamble amongst each other as to the results.

Wow! Lots of thought into that.

There's an Embassy Suites up there near USF (right off I-75). They are usually cheaper on the weekends as they need rely on the business crowd during the week. (Free happy hour and free breakfast). There's also an Embassy Suites under construction in Brandon (fairly close to the Hard Rock)--we might be able to help them jump start their business.

I've got solid football road trips planned for three out of the next four weekends. I'm sure I'll be divorced by the middle of October, so I'll probably be available in November.
