A lot of people were expecting the Titans to lose and just like last year they showed up and held their own , on the road.

Cle- no surprise
Det- no surprise they can score and will be scored on
Dal- looked about the same
NYG- same
NE and SD- looked like the best two teams that was expected
STL- played awful
ARI - played their ghears out and lost late, no surprise
Balt -McNair injured groin, Ravens D looked great and off struggled, same.
KC - as many predicted looked like an expansion team from the early 70's
Mia and Was- struggled to score.
ATL-looked like team who lost their franchise player and let his backup go.
Chi- looked like team with QB who will cough it up

Maybe the biggest surprise of week 1 was the Saints(awful) and Colts(played great on both sides)

Seems to me that there were a ton more serious injuries than any other week I can remember.

In my opinion it was Moss being as productive as he was in game 1.

I knew he would contribute at some point in the season, but GM 1. Wow.

I was surprised how well the Colts defense performed against a high powered offense in New Orleans which is a lot of folks pick for Super Bowl contender.

Won't judge that book by it's cover just yet as they take on the Titans this weekend in Teneessee, where Vince Young sliced them up and upset them last year.

This could be revenge for Indy, but Titans usually play them tough at home and Ten is one of the hottest teams in the league dating back to last season. Something like 7-1 or so.

Also surprised how the Rams shit the bed at home where they are usually great against a Carolina team that looked pathetic all preseason long.

They lost, which is no surprise as the game was basically even, but to get blasted by 2 TD's at home was surprising.

I agree with that, those two games last night were two very hard hitting games....the ball is attacked like a raw piece of meat anymore...it was interesting seeing old footage of Ditka carring the ball very casually, players today are trained to tackled and rip the ball on every play...you hold your breath just to get down with the ball.

I don't know the stats but it seems like we're seeing more and more balls ripped out....player makes a great catch turns around and is attacked from three angles, more and more fumbles IMO.

Against my better judgement, I played Jax, a team that historically can't score or blow anyone out, against the scrappy Titans who seem to be in every game, I followed what others were saying and lost , ugh.

jman, nowadays, instead of a football game, allthe games, look like,a FIGHT for the football game....icaught myself holdin my own breath,on half the plays...not while the ball was in the air,or the ball carrier was runnin down the field, but after the play was over....'keep the continue'

i really think that the defenses have no recourse they have to try and strip the ball every play...........every new rule change the last 20 years has been put in to help the offense and hinder the defense.........defenses now are like ok he has the ball hes running now swarm and strip........because the nfl doesnt allow them to play defense like they used to

Detroit. I know there were some expectations but not for me. They are DETROIT who has been a laughingstock. It is only one week but a good one for this much maligned franchise.

That Deion Branch did not record one reception yet the Seahawks still win by 2 TDs.

Jacksonville losing at home to the Titans would get my vote.

I am a confessed titans homer and i would say you are closest to the true answer...(although the Saints laying an egg against the colts ranks right up there)

But the titans first of rushing for 282 yards..with one player, chris brown gushing them for 175 yards by himself on only 19 carries. This against what was once on of the best run defenses..

Too bad the score and the tv highlights didnt do this game any justice, but any team that is able to abuse a defensive line featuring Stroud and Henderson deserves to be mentioned. And a pretty good bulk of this yardage came at a time when every one in the stadium knew the titans were going to run the ball, Jags put up 8 man fronts and still couldnt stop getting gushed.

If this performance was a genuine game plan against a genuine jacksonville defense (because it could be that the jags defense has fallen off their high pedastal) then football fans should keep an eye out for the titans running game.

Want another shocker? Maurice jones Drew, Fred taylor and Garrard managed to rush for only 72 yards against the worst ranked defense against the run
