an absolute gun for an arm. He almost threw out Lugo from third on a bullet from center. He has 11 assists. I did not know he had an arm like this and there are not many better. Whew!
No love for his arm though Fish? 11 assists and did you see that throw?
I gotta see Youngs if it is better.
Youngs is stronger and more accurate.
If fact, Youngs arm is practically as good as anyones in the game......very good.
Perhaps you will see it tonight.
Not a BJ UPTON fan.........many mistakes defensively(fielding and throwing).
I hear you. If a player is really not that good then that defeats the good arm or whatever else he is good at...
In time BJ will become a quality centerfielder.........perhaps.
PENA and AKI are two guys that I really enjoy watching...........AROD may be the only AL player with a better offensive year than PENA.
AKI is a wizard defensively at 3B and is a good stick.
dont care how preposterous it sounds, but if tampa had even moderately effective relief pitching, they could be a .500 team. they have a very good offensive lineup to go along with two of the better young pitchers in baseball. their 3-4-5 guys in the rotation are shaky (though jackson is showing signs of reaching his potential) but there is no reason for this team to be 22 gms under .500. oh and giving up on josh hamilton and watching him blossom elsewhere isnt helping the rays either.
Maddon did not fault Upton for a lack of effort on that play, instead chalking it up to Upton making a fatal assumption. Upton showed up before Tuesday’s game, apologized, threw out a runner at the plate from center field, was the victim of the terrible umpiring call, then took a called third strike on a full count before Pena walked and Aybar delivered his game-winning single.
