A very weird playoff scheduling quirk.

The team that finishes first has the option now of having an extra day off, this was just announced by MLB today.

In the division series, it will be very possible to see a guy like CC Sabathia in game 1 & 4 (on normal rest).

I don't have the exact details but this will be raising eyebows once we get closer to October.

Yes, I was trying to write this as it came across the wire.

This will give the top team the option of which schedule they want, I wish I had the exact details, this just came out.

What are the matchups if it ended today? Same division cannot meet in first round right?

yes that is a fact...but from what it sounded like they would have a choice of which playoff schedule they wanted, one being I think two days off...

they talked about it so fast I didn't have time to digest it.

This is what I am hearing but want to confirm. What happened in the past does not matter. Yanks/ANgels, the better team will win. Forget the past. Go Angles.

I think California is the team to beat, Boston a close second, Boston has always played well vs Anaheim though...Cleveland's bullpen and lack of starting depth IMO will hurt them.

I agree. It is anybody's game with no clear favorite. It should be fun and wild.
