just reading the first few lines of your post tells me youre 'tilting' a bit by getting frustrated over very common baseball line scores and game situations. plenty of teams win games despite being outhit by the opposition (on the flip side, for this case, plenty of teams lose games despite outhitting the opposition). getting the ball to the outfield for a sac fly is much easier said than done, esp when a pitcher is making a concerted effort to keep the ball low. is it frustrating when the bases are loaded with one out and a guy pounds into a DP? hell yeah it is. but it happens hunders of times a season across the majors.
i tend to think the bitch-worthy scenarios in baseball are limited to:
1) pitchers walking the bases loaded and giving up 4 runs in an inning on just 1 base hit
2) teams failing consistently when runners are on 2nd/3rd with 0 outs and they can't get a run home.
3) multiple errors in the same inning
basically, the kind of stuff where the percentages are GREATLY in your favor (or against the opponent) but things just take an ugly turn.
but arizona simply played a tight game with frisco that they lost tonight. nothing really out of the ordinary.
baseball is a mental grind though because it tends to mindfu.ck you. some nights, teams will be lights out with runners in scoring position. other nights, it'll be dry as a desert.
the one thing i will say is that as long as you are taking "+" money back on the majority of your bets, its a lot easier to deal with the ups and downs of baseball.
you almost have to go in EXPECTING the worst and then analyzing the results objectively after the game.
just because a team led by a few runs midway through the game doesnt mean its a bad beat if you lose. relievers arent horrible for giving up a run. if relievers were expected to have 0.00 era's then there would be no reason for teams to play the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings.
baseball is a game of failure for the players. that's why its so different from hoops or football. and thats why there no other sports like baseball when it comes to wanting to rip your hair out after some games.
but if you dont have a calm disposition, you will only force yourself into a cycle of losing and mindfu.cking yourself because teams are so jekyl and hyde from night to night in a 162 game season. the same team that kicks you in the nuts one night will be back on the field 24 hours later playing like world beaters. and over the course of 7-8 months, you will drive yourself nuts if you cant deal with that.
the one thing i really believe in that makes baseball more enjoyable is to simply cut your bet size in half. it is stupid to have football- and basketball-sized bets out there on the line every night of the season for 7-8 months. you cant have all that money in play every night and then try to endure some of the crazy shit that happens in baseball.
