AZ outhits the sorry ass Giants 8 to 5 yet lose 2-1. AZ loads bases with one out then get leadoff man on in 9th and Upton grounds into a DP both times......yes both times! That is just gut wrenching when these fools cant lift a ball to the OF for a SAC FLY.

THen fat ass Wickman comes in and gives up more hits in one inning than the SF pitchers have gien up all game......

I am so sick of this shit. Really. Ive tried capping, following steam, watching moves, pinny lean, Stoffo system, and nothing has worked consistently at all over the years! I am up one month down the next ,etc.... the profit amount when made is so miniscule that it doesnt seem worth it anymore.:ughhh:

Thoughts?

Baseball is a long grind, unfortunately there are a lot of bad beats along the way. Just have to ride the wave and hopefully they even out.

just reading the first few lines of your post tells me youre 'tilting' a bit by getting frustrated over very common baseball line scores and game situations. plenty of teams win games despite being outhit by the opposition (on the flip side, for this case, plenty of teams lose games despite outhitting the opposition). getting the ball to the outfield for a sac fly is much easier said than done, esp when a pitcher is making a concerted effort to keep the ball low. is it frustrating when the bases are loaded with one out and a guy pounds into a DP? hell yeah it is. but it happens hunders of times a season across the majors.

i tend to think the bitch-worthy scenarios in baseball are limited to:

1) pitchers walking the bases loaded and giving up 4 runs in an inning on just 1 base hit

2) teams failing consistently when runners are on 2nd/3rd with 0 outs and they can't get a run home.

3) multiple errors in the same inning

basically, the kind of stuff where the percentages are GREATLY in your favor (or against the opponent) but things just take an ugly turn.

but arizona simply played a tight game with frisco that they lost tonight. nothing really out of the ordinary.

baseball is a mental grind though because it tends to mindfu.ck you. some nights, teams will be lights out with runners in scoring position. other nights, it'll be dry as a desert.

the one thing i will say is that as long as you are taking "+" money back on the majority of your bets, its a lot easier to deal with the ups and downs of baseball.

you almost have to go in EXPECTING the worst and then analyzing the results objectively after the game.

just because a team led by a few runs midway through the game doesnt mean its a bad beat if you lose. relievers arent horrible for giving up a run. if relievers were expected to have 0.00 era's then there would be no reason for teams to play the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings.

baseball is a game of failure for the players. that's why its so different from hoops or football. and thats why there no other sports like baseball when it comes to wanting to rip your hair out after some games.

but if you dont have a calm disposition, you will only force yourself into a cycle of losing and mindfu.cking yourself because teams are so jekyl and hyde from night to night in a 162 game season. the same team that kicks you in the nuts one night will be back on the field 24 hours later playing like world beaters. and over the course of 7-8 months, you will drive yourself nuts if you cant deal with that.

the one thing i really believe in that makes baseball more enjoyable is to simply cut your bet size in half. it is stupid to have football- and basketball-sized bets out there on the line every night of the season for 7-8 months. you cant have all that money in play every night and then try to endure some of the crazy shit that happens in baseball.

just to kind of elucidate on my point of reducing the bet size when it comes to baseball games, i think the scheduling and super-long season leads to a ton of second guessing from bettors. when you take a tough loss one night, there is the chance that the same two teams are matched up the next afternoon (not even a full 24 hours after the previous game) and then you are tempted to force bets you normally wouldnt make just to 'even a score' in your head with that team. you feel like they owe you in some weird way. then they lay another egg and youre down another unit. or maybe you bet against them the next afternoon and they stick it to you by being ultra-efficient in the areas where they failed you the night before (hitting with runners in scoring position, etc). so then you are just completely second guessing and you arent analyzing games objectively but instead trying to 'chase' certain teams on/against them. youd be amazed at how limiting your exposure and betting baseball more for fun than for pure profit has a POSITIVE effect on your bankroll. youll find yourself laughing off bullpen-induced losses and your bankroll will have fewer roller coaster swings.

great post prodigy. Tilting is definitely bad. The thing about baseball that I have yet to take to heart is this... Even the best teams lose a lot of games during a baseball season.

I've definitely been seeing, especially in baseball, that the worse streaks you have will eventually even out. Money management all the way for profit.

Not tilting at all prodigy...just venting. I'm actually up a few units now but after 5 months of $100 a game wagers day in and day out to only be up a few hundred bucks is aggravating. Actually to not have found anything that works consistently in baseball is more aggravating! Yes it is better than losing, but I look back at ALL THE TIME I've spent watching lines, capping games, etc, and the amount I would make per hour would be negative! I always enjoy your posts and you make some very good points. The best being about reducing your bet size in baseball which is what Ive alwyas done.

I'm with you tomorrow thanks. I have been tailing for just $100 a game and getting killed. Oak under, LAD over and SF under for a 0-3 tonight.

Just keep on plugging..You will turn it around.:103631605

Last year at this time (Start of football) i couldn't hit a damn thing in baseball or football. I swear i must have been like 4-16 after the first few weeks. This year its the opposite. I have had only 2 small losing days in the 13 days since the first college football game (Had not bet in a month before that) and at one point (Until Jax happened) was 11-0.
Just keep a cool head and don't chase (which i have done too many times):103631605
