Bilichick vs. Bonds

So many of you made me want to puke - doing the morality police that Bonds "stained the game", he "created an unlevel playing field" and he's a piece of shit.

Some of you went on and on.

Why no love for Bilichick?

Bilichick stained the game, created an unlevel playing field, gained an unfair advantage. CHEATED, received a warning from the league telling him to stop and he openly defied his warning and ignored it, and he has won multiple championships and is considered one of the greatest dynasties of all-time.

When Bonds used HGH, it was not banned by MLB. He was rubbing cream on his body or whatever. Not setting up secret cameras. He never received a letter from Bud Selig telling him to stop the way Bilichick did. Not to mention, Bonds whole sport is on steroids. Nobody else in the NFL is cheating the way Bilichick is.

Stealing signs is not part of the game, and setting up a secret camera is certainly not part of the game.

Where are the morality police now? Why the double standard? How is this any different? Probably worse since he was warned and still disobeyed. Doesnt this prove that maybe, just maybe, Bonds issue may have also had some subconcious racial issues?

Why is the predominantly white media not outraged? Right now, they just discuss what happened and what the penalties should be. "Multiple draft picks, etc."

But nobody is coming out and voicing their DISGUST and hatred for Bilichick the way they did to Bonds.

Football has taken over as America's game. It is much more high profile, and held in a higher regard in America than baseball.

Why does Bilichick get a free pass? Why is he not being absolutely castrated by the media and fans? Smart white guy that just loves football and is a champion so we whatever he says goes? Let's hear the excuses..

Mike and Mike covered this today. I couldnt agree more. I actually think alot of people are thinking like you and Belichick will not get a free pass.

I think this is probably a bigger problem than just an isoltaed incident, the Pats have been a great 2nd half team for several years now...there's cheating all over sports , from drugs, to videotape, to nascar cars being altered.

bottom line iof you know or even have a good idea who is blitzing and coming from where it's a huge edge.

What can you do though take away a SB from New England? I think a suspension is in order, possible draft picks.

Has nothing to do with a free pass or what his punishment should be. He will be disciplined because everyone has to follow the rules. But everyone is just so okay with it.

But there is no HATRED.

Just like the general responses in this thread so far.

"Very right, I agree....he should be suspended."

Where is all of the HATE for this guy creating an unlevel playing field? Where are the Belichick avatars showing him as the devil? Where are the f*ck you's, and the just pure DISGUST? Where are the full threads devoted to hating on Belichick?

I think part of the problem is we don't know just how much cheating took place and if this was a one time thing....if it leaks out that they were doing this for years, different story...it would seem hard to coverup though with so many players changing teams, someone would blow the whistle, I would think.

Journey he was OFFICIALLY WARNED by the NFL, though. The league officially sent him a latter to say stop doing it. And he kept doing it anyway. Thats enough for me.

And cheating once or cheating twice, cheating is cheating. My point is if people are going to get absolutely LIVID over Bonds because of moral issues, where are those same people now?

Let's not forget the history this guy has of being a dick. He has major dishonesty problems in his professional and personal life.

Last I checked Billicheck was white...he could do this 50 times and never reach the hatred level of Bonds. That was a joke...sort of.

He's a coach, not a player, he is less interesting, and he is not breaking a hallowed record.

What I'd like to know is was he doing this in some of his playoff and superbowl wins...there has been some very close games where he might have been getting a "competitive" advantage.

I don't think you can just suspend the head coach in this case... the whole organization was involved.

from the guy that taped it, to the coaches that watched it, to the players that knew about it.

They should loose draft picks, money and someone needs fired.

1) What Barry Bonds is doing, done or whatever is actually ILLEGAL! It's against the law and you can go to prison. Big difference from taping some defensive signals.

2) We all here (me included) have jumped to conclusions about the origin of the taping. UNTIL THE STORY COMES OUT AS FACTUAL FROM THE COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE WE DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED YET! I work with the media and this happens all the time. They report and we take that report as gospel before knowing the facts of the situation.

Is it possible for the following to have occurred?

A. A overzealous intern looking to impress the Pats taped them on his own in an effort to show his worth to the organization.

B. The Jets planted him there themselves to look as if it was the Pats so they could file a complaint to the league office.

C. The dude was a fan looking to provide the Pats with info?

Now I'm not saying any of these are probable but are they possible? We must wait until we here the facts to jump to conclusions. We know the facts surrounding Bonds and they are without question.

Perfect example....other than leaked grand jury testimony, what proof do you have the Barry Bonds knowingly purchased and illegally used steroids?

What do you mean other than grand jury testimony? I think that's pretty definitive proof right? How about his trainer selling him out and oh yeah how about receipts and documents showing they were purchased/delievered to him personally. Don't even pretend like there's no proof against Bonds. There's a mountain of evidence.

Give me a break. You can also go to prison for underage drinking or smoking a joint. No reason to bring the illegal part into the arguement. Call it cheating ok, but dont start using against the law nonsense. If we placed every steroid user,underage drinker,weed smoker, and gambler in prison society would be all but gone.

I think we can all agree that Belichick should be banned from the NFL for life, charged and imprisioned for fraud and larceny. He is a bigger disgrace to sports than Shoeless Joe. He has tainted a decade of football. Patriots, their staff and their fans are the most classless pieces of garbage known to professional sports.

If you've ever been in a stadium for an NFL game you know that the 30 second play clock practically expires on every play. I've been thinking about this whole deal and wondering how NE could steal the signs that quickly, relay them to Brady, and still take advantage. It takes more than a second or two to call a play in the huddle. What if NE calls the play into Brady before they get the defensive sign? And doesn't the sound in the helmet get turned off once the play clock hits 10 seconds?

Not excusing Belichick, just wondering what they could do with it anyways.

Moonbat theory, but even if the cheaters didn't cheat fast enough to get the stolen D play in during the 10 second window I think cheater Brady could have the stolen D play signaled in by his cheating coaches and call an audible for the rest of the cheating Pat O.
