Manny Ramirez took batting practice on the field Wednesday and delivered three homers during his 34 swings.

It looks like Manny could return from a strained oblique for the series opener Friday against the Yankees.

ROB--The Yanks were going to be my play today.......thought I would be getting at least +120........no way in hell am i betting them as a favorite on the road against the best team in baseball.

I see the Yanks winning game one, with the Red Sox taking the next two............and outscoring the Yanks by at least a 2-1 margin in the series.

More confident in the latter prediction than anything............bombs away for Ellsbury and crew.

Dice hasnt looked good at all lately.
Agree 100%.. On the other hand if you throw out the 5 run game Petitte had against the Rays he has not given up more then 3 runs (Earned or unearned) in over 2 months (11 games).

Gonna be a great game!:103631605
The game is on Espn right?

Yes............and PETITTE is way overrated this year and has been more lucky than good this year.

The two Floridians go at it.

None of the veteran Yankee pitchers look like their old selves. But these guys are gamers. They work with what they have and they do everything they can to win.

I'm really dissapointed with Dice K. I said it a few weeks ago, he doesnt even look impressive when he pitches. He's still got his great location, but his stuff isnt going to blow anyone's mind. The 'Gyro ball' has been absent for over 2 months.

Really happy to have Manny back though, should he play. Hello Clarice.

I think you hit the nail right on the head about the pitchers.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Yanks. I have been a fan since i was a kid but am probably 30% when betting on or against them. The Red Sox on the other hand have been unreal for me this year(The exact opposite of the yanks) so it's quite the dilemma..
But i figured it out....
Taking Sox +1.5 and rooting for 4-3 Yanks.

Good, I hope he plays and tears his oblique apart. Or better yet, trip over those stupid looking Marley-wannabe dreads and breaks his face.

Really ingenious move for a first place team who has locked in a playoff spot.

Typical Manny-mid season vacation...highly likely there's no significant injury.

He literally does this EVERY season.

I think the Yanks are the best right now. They have been scorching hot since the AS break. They just won 7 in a row and lost a close one last night.

They will get the pitching set in the playoffs, and they will play like the gamers they are.

I'm really worried about Francona leaving pitchers in too long with so much talent at his disposal. It's kind of disturbing actually.
