I've never used MG before. Is it generally allowed to deposit MG, and be allowed to withdraw by check now ?

I finally made my first MG deposits last month at several books in time for football.

That said, I haven't tried to cash any funds out yet. I think that since some books offer a free check once a month, it would be permitted to ask for a withdrawal via check.

I suspect it'd vary between books on if they prefer to pay out via MG (the same method as original deposit). That usually is reserved for credit cards and bank wires, I think anyway.

Many would insist on the same method before, esp. with NT. I don't like the idea of WU or MG at all, I'm hoping it's been relaxed to not force you to pay whatever outrageous WU/MG fees exist to collect.

While we are on this, I realized that I had withdrew funds via WU this past spring (it was my 1st WU transaction of all time). I believe I had funded that book with direct debit, so that would suggest it's okay if you don't withdraw from MG. Not only that, I later actually also withdrew by paper check as well without any fees, too.

But yeah, YMMV. (your mileage may vary)

definitely not a problem at most posts, in today's environment MG in and check out definitely the best routes to take IMO

Most places give you the option of check or MG if that was how you made the deposit. Problem is some places charge large fees for MG w/d. Just bet charges $65 for MG w/d even though its only $10 for same amount deposit. Depends on the book I guess. With places that can get you a check with no fee within 2 weeks I'd probably go that route and avoid the fee

I don't like the idea of sending money to a person whose name I can't properly pronounce in Nicaragua. It makes me feel like a criminal...big time !

I can see a lot of people not wanting to bother with this BS !

yeah i know the feeling, took me a while too before I tried MG but I have not had any problems so far. I think the max you can send is $1800 person to person and when you cash out they can give you $500 cash and the rest in a money order. It does feel a bit awkward but once you do it a few times it goes away. Plus I've sent a few transfers to places in the US not Nicaragua, depending on the instructions from the book so those aren't as bad. Would be great to do MG online transfers but most books say to go and do the cash transactions so that's what I've done.

Last time when I reupped at SIA via MG at the store there was a lottery terminal right next to the MG machine and there was a little old lady who spent $75 on lottery numbers, 3 way, 4 way and all different numbers. Stuck me as odd that that is 100 % legal but if I want to bet a football game I have to send $$ to someone in Nicaragua, makes no sense to me! I wish some harm would come to Bill Frist for all the BS we have gone through over the last year!

I don't understand why anyone would use Mg as an option when there's always the netspend card. Load up to $2500 each time for $2 after the initial $10 load. I'm sure that the MG charges are a lot more than that!

I went to send MG yesterday.

I usually send form one of the stores I service but the girl was out to lunch and I wasn't waiting around.

I live in a small town with no MG.

So I'm going to go to the dump and I search MG.com find a place and mapquest.

Go into this hespanic store and they said I must pick up the phone.

Should of walked out then and there as after I give them my DL# home phone the asshole says he;s not comfortable with this transaction and it's denied.

Like I said after reading post like this on the forum I should of just walked out when I saw the phone, and shit I live in Wa. state so got and am a little paranoid!

I did it, no ID requested. A bit of confusion by the clerk with the two last names bit.

I sure felt weird (as a honkie) sending money to a woman in Nicaragua with two surnames, one of which started with "X".

How does the book (in CR) receive it so fast ?

I'm not so sure how universally it would work, for one thing...or if it should even be talked about ?
